in fairness to Lynch he did realise his mistake but by then it was too late and ND/BK didnt want him back.

That I didn't know. But I think I may be the only one who still roots for the guy. I'm not happy he left, but I've always wanted to see him prevail. It's one of those man crush things.

Does anyone have any pictures or video of him from the game? I searched all over google news and couldn't find a single article mentioning him and barely anything about the FBS curbstomping USF suffered. I just find it interesting since there were a bunch of articles about him before the game but nothing afterwards. He must have been severely underwhelming for that to happen. And against an FBS school no less.

why? It was stated that he always had a temper and he had personal fouls just about every game. You have bad taste in men... :)

He'd be 290+ and one of three 1st rd draft picks on a dominant line. I still can't believe his decision.

When did this come out? Source?

From what I heard, happened during our run last year. Looked to transfer back to ND, coaches considered... there may or may not have been an informal straw poll of sorts taken with the players... and they said no thanks.

So this kid committed to Notre Dame, Decommitted, Committed to FSU, Decommitted from FSU, Committed and signed with Notre Dame, Transfered to USF, and wanted to transfer back to ND?

Lol.

Out of all the transfers/decommit's ND has endured recently, this one is still the toughest for me. Always wonder if he had his head on straight what could have been if he stuck it out at ND. I don't think the predictions of a 285-290 pound beast man running 4.5 would be that far off. Could have been one of the best ever in ND history in my opinion.

I think what he did is what a lot of recruits think of doing. They just don't act on it.

If he had better advisors to help keep his head focused on the right thing, maybe things would have been different but he didn't so it is what it is. (An up and down rollercoaster and funny when looking at it the way you laid it out)

A real Shakespearian tragedy. Testosterone made him what he is and it caused his downfall.

Only mention I saw was he had 3 tackles.

If you look back through this thread, you'll find discussion. You're not going to find a Kelly quote if that's what your looking for. With the exception of Les Miles most coaches don't discuss former players publicly.

My first contract ten years ago was for $19,000, and I had to work a second job to stay afloat. I'm making close to 50 now without a masters. It would be closer to 60 with a masters.

I teach and coach in Mississippi and I have 18 years experience. I got my E.D.S. (Specialist or AAA) when I was a Grad Asst., so I've had it all 18. (That helps a lot when we get the percentage raises every once and a blue moon)The base pay for 18 years experience with a AAA degree is 47,706. Then our district adds $1,093.12 as a local supplement. Coaching supplements vary here from county to county. The county I work in is middle of the road with their pay at $3000 for assistants in football/ $5,000 for head and an extra 23 days on your contract. I also coach junior high football for $1,500, Track $1,100, and I am the head fast pitch coach, so thanks to Title IX, I get the same as football. I would drive a bus if I could get my license, but since my surgeries, I can't pass the DOT physical. It pays $8,000 per year. Altogether I make $16,187.53 in coaching supplements. My contract this year was for $64,986.65.

By the way, Mississippi is 39th in the nation on teacher pay. Our governor recently said he wants to raise teacher pay to the top 25 by the time he leaves office. He is my new best friend! HAHA!

It depends where you work. In New Jersey the starting salary (excluding generous benefits) is a little over $48K. Not bad for working 10 months out of the year. However, if you are looking for a job in Montana you will only be getting about $27K per year to start.

That will not be the case anymore. Common Core and MStar are the newest education 'things' & they are a pain in the A$$. It's one of those things that sound great on paper, but is awful in reality. Without going into boring detail, basically these 2 new things are going to have teachers working year around. When students get out for the summer, teachers will have to be acquiring C.E.U.'s all summer. This is the first year of it and I hope it is discarded SOON! If not, most educators that can retire are going to be filling out their paperwork. We have 7 teachers here at my school that are working on their retirement papers now.

On another note: This is a bad time to go into education in Mississippi. Legislators just passed a new bill saying that all new teachers had to work 30 years before they could apply for retirement. Also, new teachers have to contribute 8% more each month toward retirement. Not to mention, new teachers are on a different health insurance plan that they have to pay half of. Talking to a new teacher the other day and he said that their policy is pitiful. They have a $5,000 deductible, have to pay %25 for doctors visits, and they don't have a prescription plan.

TD run after fumble at about 2:20 is bad. His guy blocks down he goes upfield and is a total non factor as they kick him out (don't need to, he did it himself) and they run under him for 6. Looks like a talented kid, playing undisciplined and selfishly to me.

Also, USF looks AWFUL.

With all his pass rushing talent, this is what he did at ND which occasionally allowed big runs. Didn't happen as much here as it will as USF because we had Te'o and Smith to clean up his mistakes. When a DL comes upfield too far, they create running lanes. I'd run draws to AL all day if I was an Offensive coordinator.

Exactly. Not playing team defense, trying to be the hero instead of doing your job well.

Yeah, I'm certainly no expert and it was just a highlight vid, but he looks pretty poorly coached. And in a weird way he looked really passive when he was in the right spot. With that much talent and natural ability, it's a shame. And yeah, S. Florida looks like they will lose a lot of games. Hopefully the kid picks it up. He has issues but I'll root for almost every kid out there.

I disagree with that assessment of the play. If he has contain to that side(which the end usually does) he can't crash down with the end around fake. So in essence he's probably too disciplined on that play and should have read the handoff better. Blame IMO goes to 53 who get annihilated by a double team, 16 who jumps into coverage instead of seeing the run, and backside linebackers/safeties getting blocked out.

Yikes. Is he #19? He just ran himself completely out of that play. McNeese State didn't need to do anything to him — he made himself irrelevant to that play.

This conversation really highlights the importance of playing good assignment football vs having talent alone. It's the big reason our highly touted frosh take some time to get on the field and why Spond was such a great player in our system. It's more important to be able to count on a guy to keep his responsibility and allow the other ten guys to keep theirs than to have one guy who could potentially make a big play but at the expense of possibly giving up big plays.

Ok, I watched the tape and saw the TD.....I wouldn't say Aaron took himself out of the play, because if you watch it in its entirety, you'll see a WR, or slot guy come around through the backfield. Aaron is keeping outside contain in his defense.......about the only thing he could have done is try to read the QB handing the ball off sooner, but its still almost a guess on his part. That play is designed to keep the DE from crashing down and making the play, because if they catch him doing that, they cone back and run that same play, only to have the QB keep and and pitch to the trail runner or keep it himself......
