50 years ago yesterday, MLK jr. gave his famous speech. There was no post to my knowledge acknowledging this important moment in history, but there should be. If you care to, give the speech a listen.

I often wonder how different our nation would have been had he lived though the 1970s... Great man, always viewed him as just a great American and not just a leader of a specific cause....

A dream that is yet to be fully realized yet today.

He certainly was a great man.

Interesting side-note.........
After he gave that speech. He left the paper on a table. A young man who accompanied him to this event picked it up and asked if he wanted to keep it. He said no, so the young man asked if he could have it and Dr. King said yes. That young man saw the significance of that speech and still has the speech today. That young man is George Raveling, former head basketball coach at Iowa and now director of basketball operations at Nike.

I have always lived in a minority area and most of my friends/ girlfriends/Whatever, have always been black... I'm proud of what I am and aside from some distant aunt, it ain't black... It's always been cool both ways.

With that all said, my friends and I... None of us married in race, none of us faced much friction from it... And most of my friends are literally brothers, it'll be lifelong... We could pose as a UN gala when we get older, seriously...

I am a few deep on opening night now, so I hope this post comes off right, but to me, that's the dream right there. Dr King is my man.
