But we should add instant money into the recruiting equation, by allowing these mature young men (who always think things through before making important decisions) to profit from their signature/likeness....

MIKE! A Double Rainbow Dragon is just what ND fans need to cheer them up right now, but you deleted the tweet before I could share it. :(

Elijah Hood de-commits from Notre Dame. He was a 5/4-star running back with a big engine. If we want to see him on the field in 2014 I suggest we all take our turn and friend him/message him and voice out on how much we need him on our roster next season. LETS GO EVERYBODY.

With talented high school kids you will always have this type of thing happen. There are multiple people pulling them in one direction and the other. We have to realize these recruits are just "kids" and are dealing with their first of this type of thing. Hope we are still in it with him, but if not lets get the ball rollin on the next target.

The worst thing you could do short of kidnapping his cat and trying to ransom him back into the fold

man...

if i remember correctly he was high on us in the beginning, then we were out because of distance, visited then verbal. correct?

vicious cycle maybe?

its august, 1) better now then january or 2) plenty of time to reaffirm why he was here in the first place

opening up the recruitment means hes gonna fire up the process again, its not like hes flipping to UNC point blank, if he was then id be upset, but thats not the case.. all i ask from hood is give us a chance get on the field, and line that up with what UNC does..

im not THAT concerned, See: Bryant, Greg.

lets get this season going.

fret not my brothers..

at 2:43pm Sampson posted that he had reached out to Vee Hood (dad) and he had no knowledge of his son de-committing. This seems odd that a kid would de-commit and his father know nothing about it.

Especially if the sticking point is distance from home.

Just speculation, but he could be going against what his parents think the best decision is. Simply put, his parents like Notre Dame and what it would provide for their sons future. It may be likely that Hood cannot see past a female he believes he could have a future with, but his parents think otherwise. They know that it is not likely that a relationship started in high school will spring into a lifelong romance, and thus future decisions should not be based on this. Like I said, just speculation, but would partially explain why the parents are out of the loop.

Oh well. If he doesn't want to play for ND then he can kick rocks and play for shitsy UNC. On to the next one. Done stressing over recruiting.
