So it's still Martin - Watt - Martin - Hanratty - Lombard? Was sort of hoping for Martin - Watt - Martin - Lombard - Stanley.

Me too. The most striking thing from the spring game was how big Stanley looks even standing beside other OLinemen. His time will come

Why the love for Stanley over Lombard? I have to admit, I didn't focus on the OL during the spring game.

As was I and not sure why I feel that way. I haven't seen enough of Hanratty or Stanley playing to really form an educated opinion but I always assumed Stanley would be part of the best 5 and we could move Lombard inside (where I think he belongs).

Its not really Stanley or Lombard. Its Stanley or Hanratty because Lombard moves inside.

More like Stanley v. Hanratty. Lomard - Stanley on the right side seems to give us better size/ athleticism (and :s: power, FWIW), than Hanratty - Lombard.

Maybe Stanley's elbow injury has hindered his development, or maybe Hanratty has just really stepped up. Might be a bit of both.

I don't really have any negatives because we haven't had a chance to see him much play so I trust the staff knows best. The only evaluation I can go off of is from when they were recruited and small segments of spring games, etc. In which I always thought Stanley was really something special. There was talk last year that Stanley could have been on the field he was that advanced. The injury must have set him back more than expected or Hanratty is doing very well.

Your fast Whiskey. My fingers fail me again, haha.

We are still waiting for the offensive team with two very good guards on it. We have not had that yet, and this could be why Coach seems focussed a bit more on interior OLinemen this cycle than Pure Tackles.

I am hoping that Connor is not limited to being "the next Golic" but that could be the reality. This is why I'm hoping that by 2014 we have the Full Five elite OLine crew [one example being Elmer/ Montelus/ NMart/ Bivin/ Lombard ... or mix in Stanley wherever.] Then we may finally have power at each position, plus a large dose of Jeff Faine nastiness spread throughout.

This season [2013] we have ZMart/ Watt/ NMart/ and Lombard to bring that, but unless a "fifth" arises, we're one short again.

... pipe dreams, but I can't shake the thought that Elmer to tackle this year, with Lombard to guard could do it, or Bivin to guard by mid-season..... but, young frosh, so no, I guess.

Hanratty could be getting it. I think the coaching staff wants to desperately develop a guard, out of guard material. Next year we will still only have one.

They could be setting up Elmer and Stanley that way for Zaire.

How's Heagratty doing? Never hear anything about him.

From what I heard great. Had some catching up to do because of his stroke and surgery, but it must be more that Martin is exploding . . .
