Figured you'd walk away from a post with real numbers. You're a true contributor to the ND nation. You bring so much value to all of us. Thanks for all you do buddy.
I'm getting in to this super late, but I did read all of the posts.
I like how you brought numbers to the table. And that's great. But you are forgetting that DG came in last year to an offense that for years was built around D-rob. Years. The players, play-calling, etc. all revolved around him. Hell, DG didn't even TAKE SNAPS before the Nebraska game, that's why they played Bellomy.
And bringing your numbers to the table is flawed logic anyway. All year we argued that EG's numbers in the beginning of the year were mostly irrelevant, due to spotty playing time and development.
Yet, you cite EG's numbers for the second half of the season, as well as DG's, but DG's "second half" numbers are equivalent to EG's "first half" numbers. He was thrown in halfway through the year.
DG will start this next season, and there is no reason to think otherwise. I went to the NW game this year at UM (unfortunately, my GF's dad played for UM and she is die hard). I was pretty impressed with some of this throws. Outside shoulder tosses underneath the corner, going through progressions, etc.
IMO, he is a top 15 quarterback and was in a bad system this year. As a fan and in my heart, I would still take Everett because I love him. But as a rational individual, I'm not going to sit here and say he is better than DG.
