K lemme rephrase, sure fear tyranny, but I refuse to count that as a serious argument against gun control
I don't see tyranny as an immediate threat, but if the last 100 years taught us anything it is how quickly -- decades, fifty years, who knows? -- things can change. A hundred years ago from today, no one would have foreseen or predicted the tyranny the world would suffer under. It was supposed to be a new, enlightened world. We now know how wrong they were.
A disarmed populace is not likely to easily be rearmed and I see no reason to trust government as an everlastingly benevolent force. History teaches us the opposite.
