The transition defense is just awful.

After Knight's pretty bad run being at the top of the key, Brey pulled him out and Cooley played up there. I think that's the way to go in the second half. Knight is overmatched against that great zone. Put Beidschied in and run the baseline for sure.

Lackadaisical start to second half. Still just passing the ball around perimeter and not creating on offense. Ridiculous amount of turnovers and sloppy play.

Gotta make free throws. Playing from behind and Cooley already missed the front end of a 1-1 and Atkins just missed 2 out of 3. Can't have that if we want to come back!!!

And Cooley just missed 2 more. Of all the things that are upsetting me with this team the poor ft shooting is the most unforgivable.

Man, Jeremi Grant (Jerian's younger brother) is a special talent. He played very well on both ends of the court and is a very athletic tall kid. Wish he would have followed his older brother and come to ND because I am not looking forward to playing him for the next few years.

Did Brey recruit Jerami Grant? He's a 6'8 stud.

He's showing an offer from Notre Dame on rivals.

I saw a tweet from one the ND recruiting guys saying ND was really high on Michael Carter-Williams' list too until his recruiting really blew up late in the process. That would have been a nice piece to add too.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but this Saturday's game is the host game for College GameDay. That means the Irish will win in overtime on a goal line stand.

The pretty big news is that there's a 99% chance that Notre Dame will play in the Big East one last season for '13-'14. They have committed to staying since the seven Catholic schools will not be able to form their own conference in time. Should that change, Notre Dame will revisit its commitment.

Also, Notre Dame and Ohio State have committed to be the "Gotham Classic" teams for 2013. They should play in Madison Square Garden on Dec. 21st, 2013. I graduate from Ohio State on December 15....hello graduation gift! Ohio State should take a step back without Deshaun Thomas (assuming he leaves).

Nice to playing OSU in MSG next year! Only downside is ND tends to play terrible in MSG and I absolutely hate OSU so hope we can play above our usual MSG standard and pull off a win.

ND students can camp in Purcell tonight and doors open early tmrw for everyone else, I think 8:00 am but may be mistaken. Hopefully we have a sold out loud arena for this one! This is biggest game for rest of regular season and one we REALLY need to win! This is our last best chance for a resume building victory.

Cool to see OSU and Notre Dame play again. Have they played recently? I feel like they have but can't remember it. Last game I can remember was a game I was at at Ohio State when Notre Dame beat OSU on a buzzer beater in I think the preseason NIT. OSU was top 5 and coming off a Final Four berth and it was a pretty big upset.

anyone watch gameday this morning? how was the turnout?

People seemed upset with the turnout but I don't really watch gameday for basketball so I'm not sure how to compare it to other schools. Hopefully the boys can pull one off tonight, would be huge for RPI and seeding!

Yeah I figured it would be a little sparse considering the average turnout for games recently. I think IU had a full house when GameDay was there a few weeks ago.

I'm just going to go ahead and throw this out there, the remaining schedule isn't pretty:

2/9: vs #11 Louisville
2/13: vs DePaul
2/16: @ Providence
2/18: @ #23 Pittsburgh
2/24: vs #17 Cincinnati
3/2: @ #24 Marquette
3/5: vs St. John's
3/9: @ #11 Louisville

3/12-3/16: Big East Tournament

If the Irish don't pick it up, starting tonight, this remaining schedule will devour them and they'll end up in the NIT or whatever. Five ranked teams in the next eight games, and of the two unranked they've 1) lost to St. John's already and 2) went to overtime with DePaul.

This is the biggest game of the season tonight.

These are the games I believe ND will win. They need to have a couple wins in the Big East Tourney, one a quality win, to get into the dance in my opinion. If they can consistently hit the three point shot they can win any of these games. But that has been the game plan for years.

geez what a terrible start offensively. Pass the ball around until there is 5 seconds on the shot clock, then try to force up a contested 3.

Knight needs 0 mins. he is not a good player at all.

Oh yeah, and who will you put in? True freshman Auguste, who has also shown that he is a step slow for the competition?

Notre Dame doesn't have the depth, or he wouldn't be playing.

Auguste is still even faster then Knight. Is still an upgrade.
