I don't know the source of the list but there are some inaccuracies. In some cases the position listed appears to be their college position not their high school recruiting ranking position while in others high school position is listed. Mike Richardson and Ambrose Wooden were listed as WR recruits although they play CB now. I suspect the confusion is caused by Scout using the same database for recruiting that they use for NCAA play and NFL play. As they update to keep current they change the original data.

The list doesn't include at least one ND recruit. Greg (Mary Kate) Olson TE, committed to ND in '03 is not listed and if you check with Scout.com they have him listed as a Miami recruit although he signed an '03 LOI with ND and transferred to Miami when he QB brother (Ashley) transferred.

There may be others inaccuracies those stood out.

You're correct. I'm going back over things now and adding transfers and things Scout had incorrect.

In '03 Greg Olsen was the #1 TE, 5 Stars
Olsen is on the list. It says he "transfered to Miami" but that might be technically incorrect. As I recall he signed a LOI and reported to ND but asked to be released from that letter when his brother transferred. TY granted that release and he immediately went to Miami ( where he played as a freshman).

Don,

Olsen wasn't on the list at the time I posted. Check my post time versus Svoboda's "edit" time.

Olsen did sign with ND and did report and was released to go to Miami when after his brother transferred. Scout.com has it listed incorrectly as a Miami recruit - that's where the problem is. He did NOT sign as a high school recruit with Miami.

I believe all of the transfers and players that left the team are not 100% accurate. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Clerical error.

Ok!

Considering Jabbie's bizarre (IMO) position change (CB to RB) at his request and the depth at the RB, it wouldn't be a shock. I thought maybe you had a piece of news I had missed.

BTW, Nicolas left the team last 8/18. I believe he left school (transfer) but I can't find where in my notes or depth chart.

Just found that article on UND.com when I noticed he wasn't on the roster.

And I'm doing it all for you. Trying to figure out the number of scholies in 2007.

http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=109&p=3&c=ScholarshipBD - Does anyone know how accurate they are with their additional eligibility markings?

I've asked around. It will depend on fifth year guys coming back. We know Fasano is out.

We'll know more soon. I can't see any reason why they won't be able to take the full 25 again, plus more with EE.

Damn Willingham, damn broccoli and damn the Wright Brothers!!

Trying to figure out scholarships for '07 as this point is a crapshoot. I can tell you how many were recruited by class and how many are left. But no one knows who the '06 5th years will be much less the number of 5th years in '07. And there has been no announcement of attrition due to injuries, transfers, or academics for '06 (and beyond). Now factor in Kadous MAY be back on scholarship and possible walkons getting scholarships like Cullen who doesn't appear on a LOI list.

Then we have the Clausen factor. As he's the designated winner of more Heisman's than Ron Powlus (who at least had completed his HS career when Beano issued the curse) how many of the QBs stay after Jimmy arrives on campus in Jan '07 (which could create an additional 2-3 slots before Signing Day if posters are to be believed).

Fasano is immaterial. He would have used up his eligibility in '06. Same for Leitko.

Does Sullivan go NFL or stay for '07?

That's a tough one. He's about 6-4, 280 right now, right? Would need to gain strength for the NFL.

He became a starter against Purdue and never relinquished the spot. I can't see him being a day one draft choice. But how many stud centers are out there?

I think he comes back.

So do I at this time but the point is it impacts the number of '07 slots.
