No, that towel is a relica of the sign hanging at ND. Same color, same font. ND is very protective of their trademarks. That towel is clearly a Notre Dame licensed product. He could have bought it or had it given to him at anytime or by anyone and could mean anything, but it's a Notre Dame towel.
