So Notre Dame is going to choke? Is Bob and Ty going to be on the sidelines or something? They were pretty good choke artists. As a matter of fact, they had it down to a science. I know what you mean by them choking, but I don't see it happening in this game. Where's your faith?

Because I'm honest huh? Let's compare this season to 2004 shall we.
Last year we lost to Pittsburgh, Purdue, BYU, USC, and Boston College and in our Bowl game lost big against Oregon State. In 2004 we beat Michigan, Michigan State, Washington, Tennessee, Stanford, and Navy. Before we get all caught up in our new head coach hype, remember that he's winning with the young players Ty recruited. We where 9 points away from a 9-2 record in 2004. Also, do you really have to go back twenty years against West Virginia?

Every team chokes sometimes, and every team pulls out gut-check victories sometimes. Notre Dame has done both in the past 9 seasons under 3 different coaches. Could we lose to Ohio State? Sure, it's possible. But I'm a fan, and I'm an optimist, and I prefer to look at the heights this team is capable of reaching. Obviously, you prefer to look at the depths this team is capable of sinking to.

Well, hell, *I* can give a few examples of ND chokes, and I don't even like the guy. Just this year alone, our defense choked against Michigan State and USC.

But the real debate shouldn't be about whether or not Notre Dame "chokes." ALL teams choke sometimes. Duh. Welcome to college football.

MY issue with "IrishRule" is that his posts are the exact opposite of his name. All he wants to talk about are Notre Dame's negatives, and then to add insult to injury he trots out the "winning with Ty's guys" tripe that all the ND hay-tahs out there like to bray about.

He's a troll, plain and simple. And to be honest, I think I've fed this troll more than enough now.

There's a difference between being a realist and an opportunist. What Weiss has done with this team is anything but miraculous. If everything written has to be positive and cannot be objective then perhaps you need to choose another team, Vince. My guess is you're a bandwagon fan. One of those guys who jumps on every time the team does well and jumps off and plays the blame game and cries after the season is over.

But if I bring up Notre Dame's defensive woes (which, by the way, have been mentioned by pretty much everyone on this board for months), then I'm "incapabile" of looking at this team objectively. Right.

The purpose of the BCS is to place #1 against #2 and to make the other games the most attractive match-ups possible (for the advertisers). The word 'deserves' has no relevancy in BCS discussion. That is a fabrication of ESPN. I suspect my opinion is common, and the only bowl games I even remotely care about are the Orange, Fiesta, and Rose. Therefore, this was a good year for the BCS. Can we please stop giving a shit about Oregon now?

Oregon has to have the most horrid uniforms known to mankind. I know Phil Knight funnels lots of $ into the university, hence more costume changes than a 1985 Madonna concert, but the unis I saw last night topped it all.

Between the entire Oregon uniform set and those stupid unis Nike gave Florida and Va Tech, there should be fines levied against Nike.

My holiday was great. It was made even better while watching Oregon lose to Oklahoma. Talk about much ado about nothing. This team was ranked 6th in the country? Their back-ups were terrible and the defense got pounded. That's a soft, soft team out there in Oregon.
