i remember hearing that he wasn't reinstated even though the suspension was completed. i don't want to dig through articles, but i'm pretty sure someone will eventually give a link to confirm.

Ok....I hadn't seen any official word and last I saw CW wouldn't really address it.

Weiss said it was a university imposed suspension that was for the whole semester and that it was out of his hands. I don't expect to see RPN in uniform again.

RPN is done in an Irish uniform. Look for him to end up as probably a 1st maybe 2nd day guy on draft day.

thanks guys, I thought there was still some speculation that he might be allowed to suit up for the bowl game.

There was speculation due to a statement RPN made to the press. He thought his university imposed suspension ended the last day of classes (around Dec 7th) and then it was up to CW to re-instate him. The university however considers the semester to conclude in January, after the bowl date. CW noted in a press conference that it was a misunderstanding on RPN's part.

RPN done playing in a Irish uniform but he might get to put the gold helmet on again if he's selected for the Senior Bowl, 1/28/06. The complete roster will be announced on 1/22.

I hope Stovall and Fitzpatrick are healthy.

Going back to the Stanford game, they were not.

I doubt either of them had an injury that couldn't mostly heal up with a month to rest. Seeing as how they both played at Stanford. They will be needed, that's for sure.

I think that Fitzy's problem was more psychological than physical. I know he was hurting, but if he was that bad he would not have been on the field.

All i kept thinking on ND's last drive was "Please don't let it come down to a last second field goal." But I could not help but think about how brave the camera man was that was showing Fitzy warming up to possibly kick the game winner. He was kind of brave standing there shooting him practice after seeing him shank those balls on the field. Poor camera man could have taken one in the pie hole. Can you say AFLAC? (I'm not talking to youy Oregon fans either.)

I still cringe when I replay the way his leg was jammed when he was run into. That had to hurt.
