I'll be the first one to throw praise at the SEC. What they have done the last few years is impressive(even if it is helped by questionable sport ethics). Although, they have been way down this year..compared to the past few years. These close bowl games are not a surprise at all.

The only reason most people haven't realized this is because college football is obsessed with the ranking culture.

This is all true.

Also the upper tier SEC teams have gotten the mentality that of they don't play in the NCG, then the bowl game doesn't matter. They seem to lack motivation. It is one of the reasons I don't like the bowls. The games are not only meaningless, but they don't tell you much because often, only one team is trying. Look at USC yesterday.

It will not be this way Monday night. It's going to be a war and it will be awesome.

The Big 10 has the SEC on its heels today. This has to be a confidence booster for the blue & gold to break down the SEC hype pre-Miami.

That's the biggest homer bullsh!t statement ever.

The SEC has no excuse after the way media exalts them.

From reporter at Tuesday practice:

Barrett Jones is in a white jersey going through drills. Was moving laterally and forward very well. Seemed to have very good push--off. Foot was taped only. Did not seem to be limited in any way.

If the SEC goes 0-4 on New Years Day, I will giggle my a$$ off. They'll still be the best conference, in my opinion, but to erase the unbeatable mystique would be great!

Why wouldn't the media exalt them? Their performance in the past has completely supported it.

I have turned my homerism off on this board. I said it was a down year for the SEC. I said the SEC has not been mentally prepared for these bowl games. How is that homerism? It looks to me like your SEC fatigue is showing.

If I can criticize SEC teams and still be called a homer, that is ridiculous.

I also hope Nix caves his arse in. With no lasting damage.

I actually think it would be good for the SEC. They need to be brought down to earth. I have noticed a strong lack of discipline and work ethic in the SEC this year. A lot of these young kids are coming in thinking they deserve titles because they are in the SEC.

So you're saying that the SEC upper tier is full of $hitty coaches and nancy-boy players? Because any coach worth a $hit should be able to motivate his team to play in a New Years Day bowl game. And only a bunch of pansies would not have the pride to play every game with pride.

I thought it was self-explanatory. But here goes:

Yada yada SEC down year blah blah blah but there's nothing to play for in the bowl game that's why the other teams are competitive with the SEC.

Did I miss anything of substance for basing my statement? The forked-tongue/eating and pooping from the same hole thing...?

I wouldn't go that far. I would say there are enough selfish prima donnas who will not listen to a coach on those teams to ruin it for ecerybody else.
