High School Academic Requirements
The University requires the completion of the following high school courses in order to be considered for admission. A unit is the credit for a year of satisfactory work in an accredited secondary school. The two language units required should be in the same language.

For students intending to enter the College of Arts and Letters or the Mendoza College of Business, excluding the Arts and Letters premedical/predental program and the combined Arts-Engineering program, the 16 units must be distributed as follows:

4 units of English
3 units of Algebra, Advanced Algebra, and Geometry
2 units of Foreign Language
2 units of Science
2 units of Social Sciences (History, Social Studies, Economics, Sociology, Anthropology, etc.)
3 units of Additional History, Science, Foreign Language, Mathematics, and English courses.

For students intending to enter the College of Science, the College of Engineering, the School of Architecture, the Arts and Letters premedical/predental program, or the combined Arts and Engineering program, the distribution must be:

4 units of English
3 units of Algebra, Advanced Algebra, and Geometry
1 unit of Advanced Mathematics (e.g. Trigonometry, Pre-calculus, Calculus)
2 units of Foreign Language
2 units of Social Sciences (History, Social Studies, Economics, Sociology, Anthropology, etc.)
1 unit of Chemistry
1 unit of Physics
2 units of Additional History, Science, Foreign Language, Mathematics, and English courses

Although we require at least 16 academic units for admission, our most competitive applicants will have four units in each major academic area and in the most rigorous level their high school offers.

Thanks for the post. I think the worry is about the language requirement at ND. Recruits have run into this barrier before. What (if any) language requirements does Miami have?

They require 2 courses for regular students. Not sure if it applys for athletes but I believe it does. That's pretty standard anywhere tho and I have a hard time believing that DB wouldn't have enrolled him in 2 courses of it. I could be wrong but foreign langauge isn't something that I would immediately think.

I don't want to hear anything about the 'high standards' of the U.

Seriously.. give me a break.

When it's all said and done, AQM may not have a choice but to go to Miami. If that's the case, we will see him October 8th of 2016. It is good news that ND wants him to visit in January.

Definitely appreciate the insight. I think that if you go to a lot of big instituitions you can get a good education. However comparing the two football programs from an academic standpoint seems like a stretch.

I'm not here to get in a pissing match or any Miami vs ND nonsense.

I came in peace and have tried to be respectful and simply share some info from our side of things to maybe help get both sides of the story and gain an understanding of his recruitment.

If you don't want to partake in that, it's ok. But I would ask that you guys please show me the same respect that I have shown you.

I simply want to discuss a recruit. That's all.

Back to the topic at hand, I don't think there's anyone with any sort of information on our end that expects for AQM to announce for us the 5th. Not that it can't happen, but the expectation on our end is that him choosing us would take place further down the road to NSD. Thus, any plans by him to announce in a week would be a big plus for you guys IMO.

We're just very passionate over here. You didn't do anything wrong but don't think for one second that coming on another teams board, you will not get a little grief.

As for AQM, if he qualifies, he will be a Golden Domer. If not Rutgers and Miami will duke it out. Pretty simple really. Tune in to the Army game next Saturday and that will give you a much better indication of where he is leaning. Just to add, I will be very disappointed if he is not Irish.

With the caliber of players that ND is recruiting this year and the fact that I don't think that ND would accept a verbal commitment this late from a player who would not qualify (but I don't know this to be true), is it safe to assume that the issues have been cleared up?

^ So he basically said he's going to Notre Dame without saying he's going to Notre Dame.

He also said very complimentary things about Miami. I like ND here, but his interview doesn't make him sound like an ND lock IMO>
