What, you mean the guy who showed up at the CFB HoF predicting NC's and Heismann's thought this was a bad idea?

Probably not.

He already took it down and apologized. Bama Nation went after him in full force.

It was a stupid idea and it cannot possibly be sanctioned by the university.

Then again, he is only a backup QB on an NFL team, so he has very little else to do.

At least BQ has represented the university well in the NFL, recently.

I'm actually tired of the "Catholics vs. 'whatever clever, but insulting, idea thought of to insult someone'." I havent thought any were funny.

I'd be apt to enjoy something more direct like "Shamrocks vs. Sh!theads"-- nothing witty. Maybe even something lighter with some wit like "Shamrocks vs Shenanigans."

Nothing will ever top the original and the 1988 shirt idea should remain untouched in most instances---the exception being Catholics vs Criminoles IMO. A National Chamionship warrants usage of the idea, but dont force it with a stereotype.

I still like Catholics vs. Conifers.

Ordered it already.

You guys need to lighten up. Worse stuff is said about ND down here.

This is hilarious. And good for Jimmy for getting behind his team, even if it was a little tasteless.

My problem with the shirt is that it would be more appropriate if we played West Virginia or a team from Kentucky. Now the Golden Domers vs Mobile Homers is hilarious.

lol Love it!!!!

saw it...laughed...read the comments from butt hurt Bama fans...laughed harder.

Its a Tee shirt...mildly offensive and irrevrant...as intended...Not something I'd do...but the me 25 years ago...maybe.

However, before Bama fan gets all indignant...I saw a poll some time ago where 65% of them thought the Tea bagging incident was a harmless prank and the LSU guy was too sensative...80% didn't think it was a crime. I mean that makes me hear deliverance banjos...and they get pissed at a Tee shirt?

The problem is using that slogan just isnt funny to me anymore. It is a played-out play on a classic slogan. It isnt about politcal correctness. It could have said 'Catholics vs. [Insert picture if Tide detergent bottle]' and I'd have laughed more.

In fact, if dre (the IE t-shirt guy) made that t shirt on his site, I'd purchase.

I like the shirt, but love Jimmy. Man, he was so good his junior year. My first ND game ever, I'll never forget. In a loss to Navy, JC went 27/29, 454 yards, 5 TDs, zero INTS (this is all from memory, so if I'm a number or two off, have mercy). Jimmy's always pro-ND on twitter, too. I have zero problem with him and am so glad he came here.

I don't care what anybody says, I love the shirt. I love the resurrected slogan! Catholics vs Any Opponent-Mocking name gets my vote. Its a tradition of sorts. At least these are not half as foul as many of the SEC rivalry shirts I have seen. LSU, Auburn, Bama, Georgia, UT... All have made some pretty gnarly shirts. I would be ashamed of ND fans if they did something like that. But this is funny...and way more mild than what TROLL TIDE is saying about us.

"Catholics vs. Conifers" is amazing.
