Watching this is only going to make his eventual leaving for a head coaching job harder to swallow. He's a fantastic coordinator, game planner, coach, leader, and motivator and when the time comes for him to leave he will be sorely missed. I don't believe he'd be content being one of those lifetime coordinators--if he was, he wouldn't have interviewed at Temple and BC. But, I hope one day when he's a head coach somewhere and Brian Kelly retires after a couple decades of championships, Diaco can find his way back to South Bend to succeed BK.

I'd love to hear him blast a locker room speech.

So well spoken, and even from an acceptance speech you can tell how focused this man is (and he was trying to be polite)

I thought it was funny how seemingly the other guys were trying to take notes from him.

Also LOVED how he brought up the graduation rate as well as the football team's success

Bob Diaco is the example how first impressions are not always right. After the 2010 Navy game I never thought that by the end of year 3 the defense would be the best in America.

Bob Diaco = Notre Dame man, regardless of when or if he leaves.

I have a difficult time imagining many football coaches operating or even claiming to speak at that level of spirituality and profundity. Yes, those other guys at the table, massaging their manly testosterone vibrations, seemed stunned at this strange creature amongst them. I could hear their thoughts: "another dammed Notre Dame b@stard".

Making us proud, Coach.

If Bob Diaco and I were to have a one on one sit down, and he told me that I had super powers, I might just jump off of my roof to see if I could fly.

From beginning to end Coach spoke about the 800lb gorilla in the room, that is the "student" part of student-athlete, in modern day athletics at most universities. I love how he quoted our mission statement and then described how he embraced the concept of Coach as Teacher, and the football field as an extension of the classroom. Most of the other people on stage looked at him like he was from another planet. (I know some here would probably agree with those coaches, as I have heard the now destroyed planet Krypton as a possible point of origin for our coordinator.) I have been around a lot of great coaches in my day and Coach Diaco is special even among them. #genuinearticle
