Although I hold out hope for Te'o, and know that anything is possible, I've essentially come to terms with knowing he won't win. This isn't an award for the best player in college football. This is simply another award for offensive players to thrive at.
If this award was truly for the best player then there would've already been a defensive player to win it. People pay attention to stats, and plain and simple sacks and turnovers can't match up to touchdowns. I wish they could, but they don't.
It is really sad, and I feel bad for Manti, because if there was EVER a time for a defensive player to win, it would be this year.
