Who do you want to play in the Bowl?

Assuming Notre Dame takes care of business and beats Stanford and is then chosen to play in the Fiesta Bowl, who do you want to play?

I want to win a bowl game for the first time in a decade. It doesn't really matter.

Get the W. Oregon is the team ND can beat for sure.

Well, if Notre Dame (God forbid) loses to Stanford, they are an automatic invite into the Gator Bowl. I'm sure that would be a cake win since it is a Big East or ACC #2.

Bring on Penn St. I do hate the Buckeyes more than I hate anything else in this world, but I would like us to play the best possible (or highest ranked) team that we can, so that we can justify the fact that we are playing in a great bowl. You know that there are going to be A-Holes like Mark May that say that ND doesn't believe that we belong in the Fiesta. I would like to take that theory and shove it up his A$$!!

And who is the ACC #2 team? I wouldn't want to play Miami or Virginia Tech, but I'd love to play Florida St. in the unlikely and unfortunate event ND loses to Stanford.

I wouldn't want to face the ACC #2, but perhaps the Big East #2. #2 of the ACC certainly wouldn't be a "cakewalk".

I voted for Penn State, and I'm sticking to that, but a small and growing part of me really wants to say Oregon just so we can shut them up. But my only problem is that once ND beats them 45-13 (a score they should remember well :snicker: :snicker: ) then all the reasons we've been using for why Oregon's not really that good a team and doesn't deserve a bid over ND (wins against Montana and Houston for example) will then be used against us and "all of a sudden" Oregon will be this terrible team that was never that good and beating them didn't prove anything.

I think that two weeks ago i would have said penn st. Now i definitely WANT oregon, just to shut up their annoying ass fans!! Plus we play psu next year. I would'nt mind playing the buckeyes either. They are a tougher matchup but probably a better game( by the way thats who ND is gonna play ,ohio st. i believe). I always want to play the best because i'm competitive like that or maybe it's arrogance(their is a fine line between the two).If osu is the best team available to play, then bring 'em on baby!!

I think that two weeks ago i would have said penn st. Now i definitely WANT oregon, just to shut uo their annoying ass fans!! Plus we play psu next year. I would'nt mind playing the buckeyes either. They are a tougher matchup but probably a better game( by the way thats who ND is gonna play ohio st. i believe). I always want to play the best because i'm competitive like that or maybe it's arrogance(their is a fine line between the two).If osu is the best team available to play, then bring 'em on baby!!

Unfortunately, Notre Dame doesn't qualify for the Holiday Bowl. LMAO!

It would be interesting to see what would be said if Notre Dame plays Penn State and beats them. Would Penn State then be an overrated team that won a mediocre conference? Would Ohio State be overrated then. The same mouths that trump up teams as being contenders, dismiss Irish wins as beating overrated opponents. It's complete madness I tell you. I voted for OSU. I want to play them.

I've always felt the highest ranked opponent but Richduck has made me realize how much Oregon has been shortchanged by the media, coaches, and computers. ND should pass on the Fiesta and $14 million to demand to play The Ducks in San Diego.

I agree completely! All of the logical (?), and understandable (?) points brought forth by the Duck fans has convinced me that they are not only a great (?) team but would slaughter ND (?) if the two met.

Therefore I think we should bypass the Fiesta, agree to play them at SD, and then forfeit the game rather than be slaughtered (?)
