@MTeo_5 should, in my opinion, should win the Heisman. He's everything that's good about college football ... he deserves it.

So your logic why Teo shouldn't get it is because your guy didn't get it back in 1998. LOL Nice.

Nguyen was a great player and should've been in that discussion. However, the Heisman voting seems more likely to consider defensive players then it did back in 1998.

What are you basing this on? How has the voting base shifted? Was it last years offensive winner or the year before thats offensive winner that "shifted" the base?

And Sumlin is overrated.....Keenum was the glue. Not only that, but played only 1 team that season with a winning record (southern miss) and got smoked. He was very average before that season.
Can't wait until the Ags find out he's a fraud.

Disagree. The Mike Leach improved to be Kliff Kingsbury system has worked (but that doesn't mean it won't work anymore because of 2 coincidentally good qb's), but that program has got it's swagger back. Recruiting is better and the faithful are excited again.

I don't think the path to Teo winning has anything to do with Manziel.

The reason Teo should win is because of the leadership he provided to a stellar defense for a stellar season. Great stats. Great career. Great leader.

Bring on the trophy.

This ground swell is too little too late unfortunately. Ballots have to be in on Monday Dec 5, I would hazard a guess that a lot are already in.

The voters have had to decided between a good kid with impressive stats in the SEC, albeit not against good competition. Vs a great kid with more stats than just 7 INTs as an LB, all the intangibles are immeasurable.

Freshman winner vs first pure defensive winner ever. Neither one is acceptable with a 3rd player as a jr or sr with similar stats.

I won't be completely sad if Johnny Football wins, could be the next 2 time winner. However, if they are actually going to give the award to the mottosake of the award, you give it to T'eo. No questions asked.

The Heisman trust has the ability to do this year what it has failed to do in years past. And that is to award the the trophy to the "the outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity. Winners epitomize great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work."

Do the right thing.

I would like to alert Irish Fans of the "Fan Vote" for the Heisman. This is one single vote that is determined solely by internet votes from the fans and counts towards the actual heisman voting.

Please go to Nissan presents the Heisman Vote (doesn't work on phones - use your PC/Mac to access)

Manti is trailing only slightly on this vote to the other guy and with the help of the Irish Fans I know we can make a goal line stand and win this vote. Please spread the word.

Then: embrace the hate.

Lol. It's coming.

That and another Natty.

Well considering 2 out of the last 3 years there has been a defensive player in the top 5 in the voting. Before 2009 you had to go back to 1997 to Woodsen when a defensive player was in the top 5. Obviously defensive players are still not usually serious candidates. But this year has been kind of a perfect storm making Manti's candidacy much more of a possibility.

I'm just saying that the last few years voting shows that Heisman voters are more likely to consider a defensive player then what they did in the past.

I got a good feeling about all that is Manti. Even the local Irish haters here are predicting Teo wins it.

I got a good feeling about it. I could be wrong though. I just believe this year is special. Even more so than has been already.

You guys crack me up. Arguing for Klien to be in the Heisman talks. Exactly why again? Do tell. The argument "Johnny gets a pass where Klien didn't" is foolish. Please tell me why you feel like Klien is better than Johhny. He completely collapsed against the worst defense in the entire nation when his team was number one in the country. Losing to 1-5 Baylor badly with 3 pics is unforgivable.

You crack me up. You've been spending an awful lot of time a an ND message board. Aren't there any A&M message boards where you can go chearlead for John Manziel?

Honestly, if Teo cant win it I had just as soon see JM win it. I thoroughly enjoyed watching him in the Bama game. I dont hold the bar brawl or whatever it was against him, however, it does go against the spirit of the award when things like that are brought to light. Teo has a clean arrest record and a pretty damn good season on top of a stellar career. He happens to be a model student from all indications. Oh, and happens to be a captain of an undefeated team playing in a National Title game. He also played against teams in his teams division. I think he should be an obvious choice.

I will agree with this.

But he is following Tator's footsteps ethics-wise, right now.

I would love to be wrong.

Thought you were leaving you fvcking troll!

You're pathetic!

Why is this tolerated?

It's not tolerated bro, it's just that we all have jobs and families, and sometimes we just don't see posts like that right away. Between teaching and coaching, sometimes I'll go 6-8 hrs without really getting to read much on this site, and other mods are in the same boat at times. Another poster wisely reported that post, and that's how I saw it.

When you guys report those posts, they get taken care of a lot quicker...

You can disagree all you want....but UofH was average during his time there, in a bad conference, until the last year when they played nobody and he had a 6th year QB. He cashed in at the perfect time.

They're recruiting better because of the move to the SEC (they've always recruited well, they get the UT leftovers) and they struck gold in Johnny Football...Hell, even Sumlin didn't know who was going to start at QB. He got lucky.

We'll see in a couple more years....

I think Manti is lucky that Collin Klein lost. Baylor helped the Irish in more ways than one.
I think Ndamukong Suh had to be there and peaked late. He was the best player that year, but didn't win it.

Jarvis Jones has had a pretty good year, but not really seeing his name getting thrown out much.

I think the lack of a solid qb with a perfect record might open it up.

I don't disagree with much of that. He had some big enough wins to get his name out before that year. I think the Aggies are going to be relevant for awhile.

Wow... Mullet tough guy whines and then calls me and all aggie fans gay fags and I get banned for asking why people are arguing for Klien for heisman in a sarcastic tone? A little sensitive don't you think? I never personally attacked Teo or the ND fan base. Classy. Peace out and whatever happens in the Heisman race you guys should be proud of Teo and your season. Hope he has a long and successful career and would love to have him on my NFL team. Enjoy your magical season, you guys deserve your shot at the title.

I didn't ban you so I have no idea why you quoted me, but hey, I'm pretty sure you deserved it...

Especially if you look at his repeated insults.

Manti Te'o is a legend.

He will leave one of our best.

Ever.

No insult is acceptable.
