Navy (5-3) at No. 7 Notre Dame (6-2), 1:00 pm EST

SOUTH BEND, Indiana (Ticker) - Navy has not beaten Notre Dame since 1963. The streak is not likely to end this weekend.

The seventh-ranked Fighting Irish try to extend their NCAA record winning streak over the Midshipmen to 42 games when they meet Saturday.

Notre Dame (6-2) is 68-9-1 all-time against Navy since a 35-14 setback to the Roger Staubach-led Midshipmen in 1963. The second-longest winning streak by one team over another was Nebraska's 36-game tear over Kansas, which ended last weekend.

The Irish, who are concluding a four-game homestand, are coming off a 41-21 triumph over Tennessee last week in which they scored the game's final 20 points. Tom Zbikowski returned both an interception and a punt for a touchdown in the triumph.

Brady Quinn needs just 107 yards to break Jarious Jackson's single-season passing record of 2,753 yards.

Navy (5-3) routed Tulane last week, 49-21, after scoring on its first four possessions to open a 28-0 first-quarter lead.

Quarterback Lamar Owens ran for three TDs for the Midshipmen, who have won five of their last six games and need one win in their last three contests to become bowl eligible for a third straight year.

Prepare to hear about Roger Staubach ad nauseum today. Game over by halftime.

edit: Just after I posted this that was the first damn thing that NBC mentioned.

That play by shark reminds of the game that was on classic they used to run that play to Brown.

Question for everyone. Am I am the only one here that finds it very hard to hate Navy? I know I even have a Navy cap. There is just something about these kids that makes it hard to hate them unlike Michigan. Maybe because they have been our b!tch for so long. Could also be that I love the triple option.

This triple option isn't something to take lightly. Navy has moved the ball easily on us... probably the best any offense has all year.

My high school team ran it, and the beauty of it is what is a nightmare for the defense. You have to defend it just right, you key on the QB he will pitch it, key on the pitch man there goes the QB or he just hands it off to the FB. It is a headache.

What Navy's coach thinking having the RB throw a pass? Not that outcome was in question but Navy could have kept it close with a score and the way they were moving the ball they probably would have scored.

What he got to do is mix in a salad once in a while! :)

Us Catholics don't have to eat fish all the time, but he might want to start thinking about it.

Play of the Day!

Stovall!
What a turnaround! Two years ago this guy was dropping balls, running the wrong routes and generally playing a lackluster game. Last year showed little improvement.

Enter Weis and the guy is a first round NFL pick. He is awesome!
