I Need 10+ Concrete Quotes Of ESPN Nay-Sayers

If anyone can help me out with this, I'd definitely appreciate it. I have a pretty good idea for my next ND video. It's going to focus heavily around quotes from ESPN's employees about why ND will not go undefeated. They have to be verbatim, and it would help substantially if dates for the quotes can be included. The song choice that I found will work perfectly for the idea, so I really don't want to waste it and now I can make the video a week earlier than scheduled (now to lead up to USC). This way, if ND does or doesn't go undefeated after USC, I can go ahead and make a comprehensive video of the entire season, either way.

Thanks a bunch!

not sure this is what your looking for, but....

its not ESPN, but Rob Dibble on FoxSports Tonite (radio) was spewing ND hate on 11/12/12. I could tell from his statements he was not that knowledgable about CFB, but he was talking a BIG anti-ND stance, spewing lots of haterism 'opinion', and skewing facts. So much so, it prompted me to call in to the radio show, something I NEVER do.

he must have repeated it 4 or 5 times before I checked him on air(I called and debated him for about 5mins) he kept saying that 'Notre Dame should not be even considered for the NC game because they belonged to the Independent Conference.' This was said with prejudice which I found funny, because I could tell his CFB knowledge was limited to say the least, and he was just spewing ND Hate. I told him there was no 'Independent Conference', that ND was just 'Indepedent' and that anyone that has followed CFB closely would know that. ND's independence is fundamental knowledge to CFB fans.

I also mentioned the 'ND hate' in the media, and how another team is good until ND beats them. (I was not trying to bait him with this comment, it just worked out that way in the end)

side note: Before I called in, he mentioned how KState demolished MIA 52-13 and that ND should be playing teams like Florida St and MIA.

I notified him that ND has played MIA this year (and in 2010 sun bowl) and didnt allow a TD in this years 41-3 win(and destroyed them in the Sun Bowl). Then in a stroke of Dibble-genius, after my call and after they came back from commercial Dibble gets on (continuing our debate after I was off the air; he was still pissed) to say how bad MIA is this year, and how its the worst statistical year for MIA, and how ND beating them meant nothing.(but earlier, it was a great win for kstate). He went from saying how good a MIA win was for KState, to saying that ND didnt get no love for beating MIA(in the same year).

Of course in doing this, he illustrated my comment on how when ND beats a team, all of sudden that team is no good. I pretty much called my shot, and Dibbs walked right into it.

Dibbs will hate it if ND gets into the NC game and wins, because I will call back and launch my SCUDS against him.

I listened to the whole segment. That was the most uninformed bs I've ever heard. Its like they had a sheet in front of them with all their college football knowledge on it. All dibble kept repeating was that Notre Dame plays Boston College, Navy, Wake Forest and BYU. Because of this everyone in the country has played a harder schedule. And he got called out on Miami and totally ran from it. Wish u could have gone longer and well done man.

Edit: Also they contradicted themselves so many times. Wake Forest and BC have been good in the past, and he says don't pick the bottom of the ACC. Auburns been good in the past and he says Alabama can't help the schedule its years in advance.
He says ND is getting ready to play one of the worst FBS teams. Well Alabama is getting ready to play one of the worst FCS teams.
He talks about late season pad your schedule games for ND when its official pad your schedule week in the SEC.

Its blind hate. These people hate Notre Dame but can't say it on air or lose their semblance of professionalism so they have to discredit anything they do.

Absolutely insane. I've said this before, I'll say it again... I never understood what the mythical Notre Dame hater was like until we got good again.

These people should all be ashamed of themselves. What do they so blindly hate? The 97% graduation rate? The lack of cheating? That we've played the hardest schedule of all undefeated teams with no FCS cupcakes?

Sheesh.

I think what frustrates me most is that it is just blind hate. If you want to use facts to prove Notre Dame doesn't belong go ahead. I will respect that, but to just throw out hate acid based on opinion while blindly ignoring every other teams glaring problems (FCS, Sun Belt, and week conference opponents) to show how "terrible" Notre Dame is I can't respect you as a reliable source.

WOW, is Reilly an a$$bag. No other schools are forced into a conference. That seems to be his big beef, is ND's independence. Pure, unadulterated, unsubstantiated hate right there.

It probably took you all of 3 seconds to type those seemingly simple facts about our beloved program. It's a damn shame that JOURNALISTS and REPORTERS don't have access to those facts? Oh wait, they do? Interesting...

PLaying to the market

Which brings me to this excellent point. "Playing to the market," is exactly what they're doing. Do we really think Mark May and Lou Holtz were magically grouped together because their off-air accomplishments? Of course not. Their bickering and banter bring ratings. Ratings are what keep TV shows and radio shows on-air. Low ratings = cancellation = no job...

The undeniably painful part of this whole mess is that it's us fans and our team who suffer the most when the masses turn against us. The hatred spews from every direction, yet all of it unjustifiable bullshit. Ignorant is a common adjective that can be used to describe a lot of people. We rely so heavily on what is presented to us in the media via TV and radio, etc that we sit back, lazily, and develop our own opinions based on what these idiot "journalists" and "reporters" have told us, not knowing if it's even true. These people should be held accountable for what they say when it's presented as fact and not opinion. You'd think being a reliable source would carry more weight than ratings, but that's the world we live in.

Haters gonna hate.

College football - Stanford Cardinal dream to repeat spoiler role against Oregon Ducks - ESPN

Notre Dame was unbeaten and dreaming big when Stanford came to town on Oct. 13. Folks in South Bend were thinking coach Brian Kelly was finally reawakening the echoes. But the clock struck midnight on that when the Cardinal converted a 2-point conversion after Stepfan Taylor used a tough second effort to bull in for an overtime TD in the Fighting Irish's 21-20 overtime loss.

A loss to … wait … that didn't actually happen because of a dubious call.

Still, that Notre Dame victory is a blotch on the Fighting Irish's résumé in the beauty contest of college football. The chief reason folks rank the Irish behind Kansas State and Oregon is style points. So the Cardinal did deliver a degree of bad news in that game, though some might argue we're doing rhetorical yoga to maintain the trajectory of our contrived theme.

How close was Stanford to giving Notre Dame its first loss this season? Very close.

Umm. No. That TD would have TIED the game. That TD would NOT have won the game. I'm so sick of hearing people say this. Pitt came closer to beating ND than Stanford did. My God. This is just pathetic. I realize the article is to build up Stanford in hopes that they can upset Oregon (and Lord knows, we all want that to happen), but seriously, is it necessary to take a cheap shot at an undefeated ND team in the process? C'mon.

Holy crap they just can't help themselves can they? Does that clown think Stanford would have went for, and gotten the 2 point conversion or something?
