Theo Riddick's move to RB has worked out as well as we could've hoped.

Everett is a freshman and I am reminded of that every day.

Daniel Smith is a great blocker who doesn't mind getting his nose dirty. Need to get him catching the ball more.

Nix: when he got in there he played very well...it was just a gutsy performance.

Lou did not practice because he was sick. During pre-game he felt okay not his usual self. But then he got in the game.

Lou is back to himself now, upbeat, smiling. He's back to what Lou should be.

BK didn't know Lou was sick until right before practice on Tuesday.

Z. Martin: one word, consistency. He's lapping the field. he's that good on a consistent basis.

He has been consistent all season long - that is his strength

A: it doesn't help. the only thing that helps is winning football games. How do we get to 10.

The only thing that helps with our BCS chances is winning football games.

The way the BCS is set up right now, if you have more than two undefeated teams, you can't control it.

On Golson's 4th quarter comeback - he was ready to get back in there.

A: it's possible when you have an Alabama and Oregon undefeated. Then it's possible.

For the people who were wondering how Jarron is practicing and to the people who think he is going to move to the oline. Kid is a stud and will be playing defense.

Red zone offense needs to be more precise and right now it's not that.

Brindza: I know Kyle, he's going to move on. Kyle has some mechanical issues he needs to clean up but mentally he's fine.

A: I dont really, sons of players is hit and miss. Different with coaches sons, around the game - I may check a box off for that.

This team has played more consistently on Saturday. In preseason, mental and physical toughness was a big priority, and that's paying off.

All the teams I've had at ND have prepared well - this group is just more consistent on the field.

Kelly on a lot of double numbers on the same roster: I think it's something new in the past few years in recruiting.

Q: kids focus on same number in college?
A: It's a recruiting thing. I wish we didn't have multiple numbers, it would make things easier.

Interesting list. Kelly the Master Psychologist picking out those particular guys who would have liked to be playing immediately and giving them a needed [at least in his mind] positive stroke.

A: always great to go back. The request for tix is always high. I'm excited to get back there.

more on jersey numbers - players wearing the same number is something I wish the NCAA would say no to...we do it for recruits who want a certain number.

Not sure when ND will be back - I'll just let other people decide.
We don't have a measuring stick. We take care of how we play and others decide when we're back.

Could you imagine if not having your high school number available was a make or break for a commitment?! Ridiculous if you ask me...

Perhaps we could combine this with the What Is The Uniform Surprise thread. Issue numbers in a variety of colors – day-glo green, mellow yellow, sea foam green, etc. Just issue a guide sheet to the officials before the game explaining just who is who.

Duplicate numbers AND funky uniforms. That's a win-win in my book ...
