Rain and Wind and ND 4-1 Against the spread. Stay on the train--lay the points. If they dont cover, they are going to lose, so you might as well take the value at 1 to 1 rather than 1 to 2.4.

So here's the thing that makes me "public" and not a shark, I guess: what is this based on? Why is it common gambling knowledge?

I'm not trying to be a sh!thead about it. I honestly want to know and don't get it. I bet games based on my opinion, but my opinion only matches up with the industry knowledge half the time (and I do OK). But what am I missing in terms of serious inside gambling knowledge?

Well, yeah. That is just my opinion as well. I like their cover trend so I'd rather get 1-1 rather than 1 to 2.4. I am no expert, trust me.

Hell, I liked Purdue outright last week at home against Michigan. They got smashed by 30.....

Ha well OK. Its not just this; I feel like all the time people say stuff in relation to gambling I don't get. (Not saying they're wrong, just that the knowledge is lost on me.)

How much research do you do on the teams? A lot of the stuff i say is based off of trends of the team. Occasionally you see something that gives a team an edge. Or sometime a team is either on or off. In this case our offense will either be on and we smoke them or it is off and we have a massive chance to lose.

I don't know who the phork you are, but I imagine you as a Kathy Bates type. Now please, let Phork go from your "care" so he can continue to urinate in the occasional bowl of cheerios.

Do you require a vBucks random?

My prognosticating has been pretty horrendous this year... but I have a rule of thumb to take the underdog with the points if I expect a low scoring game. Looking at the giant rain storm supposed to hit South Bend at ~1:30 I'm taking Stanford +7.5. I'm also taking the under.

But I see the rain helping us. When it is raining the pass goes and the run picks up. We have a good run O and D. Where our weakness is is in the pass D so I think the rain helps ND.

I agree. I thought about predicting a loss today but I think the rain really helps.

How do you know if you won your bet and how much you get?

If you click on any one of the options to bet on above it will show you what you bet on. Then you compare it to what happened in the game. If you won you get your original money bet back plus you multiply that amount by the odds and you get that too.

You bet 500 on the under and it pays out at 1/1 so you get your original 500 back plus the 500 you won. You bet 750 (500+250) on nd winning so you get your original 750 back plus the 270 you won. Your total you get back will be 2020.
