I think the green jerseys were great. I loved how dark they were and I hope they sell them, because I'd like to have an authentic one.

i love them as well! that green and gold is just sharp! What about on the white jersey's (which we only wear one more time this season) having that dark green color in the numbers???? those would be sharp as well!

I agree the jerseys were stylish! I say play a whole season at home with them. I already looked on ebay to see if someone snatched one.

It was a great father and son moment for me because my dad saw them come out of the tunnel before I did. He grabbed my arm at the bicep and I thought he was going to rip it out of the socket. "THEY'VE GOT GREEN JERSEYS ON!!" He's the reason I'm an ND fan, so to see the excitement on his face....

The buzz around that place was incredible. I think it set the tone for the rest of the day.

A young man from Dublin, Ireland was sitting next to me and asked, "Are they wearing green?"

"Yeah, they're really dark kelly, though."

"Oh, this is going to be a special day."

I'll never forget them coming out of the tunnel for as long as I live.

I seen us come out in the green jerseys against BC in '02....I will never forget that. I liked the one's on Saturday better. The green was a little darker and the numbers where gold instead of white, like they are suppose to be in the first place (w/gold). I think we should use them a little more often.

These were much like the ones from the 70s. I think, with a victory (like we had with the '77 game against USC), Weis would just wear green straight through. That is what he knows from when he was a student and Devine was coach. Maybe he'll do it anyway. Green was used as the normative jersey under Leahy, Brennan, Kuharich, and Devine, and they all lost a few games in them (Brennan and Kuharich more than a few), so attributing magical powers to them is well beyond absurd.

ND's colors are Blue and Gold not Green and Gold. The green should only come out for big games or special occasions; it should happen no more then a handful of times in Weis's tenure at ND.

I like 'em. Always have. Thought I didn't care for the shade the last time they were donned before Saturday.

Green Jersey's don't make a player better. Neither does a gold helmet. But if a player THINKS it makes him better ...

A Blue and Gold Jersey wouldn't have made Fitz's last kick slide between the uprights. A Blue and Gold Jersey wouldn't have prevented Fasano's fumble. A Blue and Gold Jersey wouldn't have made Wooden bat away that last pass. But in a Green Jersey, hecaught him from behind.

ND should wear Green Jersey's whenever Coach Weis wants them to.

I just got to say, I put a post asking if they should wear the green last week, and I think everyone screamed no, but I have to say, these jerseys are much classier that the ones in '02, and if we knew that is what they were going to look like, there would have been some different answers.

I was one of the guys yelling "No!" to the green jerseys last week, because I just wasn't feelin' it.

Due to last-second plans, I got stuck at a friend's house with no cable and missed the first few plays. But damned if I wasn't excited when I turned on the TV, blinked, blinked again, and realized it wasn't the static from the antenna... WE WERE IN GREEN.

I like it even better now that I know it wasn't just a cheap emotional ploy or a trick to get the players jacked up. In the post-game presser, someone asked C-Dub why he went with green. His answer:

"These guys worked so hard all week that I wanted to give them something back."

It wasn't a magical win charm at all. He was rewarding his players for putting everything they had into practice that week. The best reward for working hard in practice is a win on Saturday, but Charlie new he couldn't control that. So, he came up with the best reward he could: those wonderful green-and-gold jerseys. And I guarantee you those boys will never forget that thrill for the rest of their lives.

Damn, what a coach.

I didn't want them to wear them, but seeing them wearing them was too much. It was cool.

Guilty as charged. I did LOVE the green jerseys from this weekend though. It set the tone for one of the greatest games I ever saw. I love the fact that C-Dub recognized the importance of the day and it just added to the hype and special atmosphere of the game.

This guy understands the history. But I think he wants to build upon a new one. There are ND fans, young ones, who have never seen a National Title or a bowl game victory. That needs to change. Rockne, Leahy and Ara are bed time stories. Weis is going to bring winning to the young ND fans like those of us who saw Holtz as youngsters.

Only better.

Personally, I don't like this too much, but I knew that was what he was thinking when he did it:

Q. Any thoughts of wearing the green jerseys again?

COACH WEIS: I think we might just wear them every game. You know, what the heck? But I told you that using the green jersey a payback to our players. That's what it was. It was a reward for a job well done. Unfortunately, as a coach, staff and a team, that didn't work out. We're not worrying about that right now. We're just worrying about Saturday at 1:30.

He's said it twice now... the green jerseys were a reward to the players for practicing so hard, rather than a cheap emotional ploy to manufacture a win.

I like that.

Of course, green should still only be used for special games, and NEVER AGAIN for Bahstahd College. Blue and gold are Notre Dame's colors, and always will be. But it's nice to see the green jerseys have at least some of their magic back.
