Just kidding, but I think Leinart getting a mild concussion after being hit shows that USC is just like any other squad. I hope we can get to him and knock him around like ASU did because it kept them in (and ahead) for most of that game. If they could tackle Bush and White (big task, I know) they win that game and USC gets a loss.

I'm pretty pumped because I think we are a solid hitting and tacking team.

we definitely are. every team we play we put people down because this team hits hard. Look at Pitt and Michigan and Purdue. We took starters out.

And if there is any glimmer of hope, that has to be what I'm hoping to catch lighting with against SC. They are human just like us... they bleed, they get tired, they can be beat.

What's even better is we are 4-1 and have player 4/5 games on the road. I mean damn, we're supposed to be 0-5 according to Corso and May.

I hope Ndukwe drops a bomb on that sucker...I think it will be a all air assult on both sides...we typically do vety well in regards to rush defense...I know Bush and White aren't typical backs, BUT i do think we can limit them and hope Zibby and Ndukwe can help out in pass coverage

You guys watch the ND games that are on NBC im sure. I love Hayden and hammond. I think they are a great team. Anyway this thread reminded me about something hayden says just about every game, " boy, when brandon hoyte hits you, you go down, thats it". Just funny, listen for it. ND defense has already knocked out a couple of key players this year. Corey mays hammered hart in the Mich. game and that was huge for us, and last week they knocked jerrod void out of the game, so hopefully they do the same to southern cal.

I like Zibby on a timed safety blitz to make Leinhart wish he was a 49er. For a nice bonus, Leinhart could fumble the ball and Abimiri takes it to the house.

yes we do hit hard but i think weve done a poor job of wrapping up at times and this game isnt a game we want to lapse in that area

Unfortunately, I have to agree with you ACC. HOWEVER, with the extra week to prepare, I think we can improve on that EXPONENTIALLY............

His parents must be so proud. "This is my son Matt, he's a dancer". What a tinker bell. I'm hoping that our boys do a jig on his a$$.

someone's got to explain to me how that's legal. Don't you have to be going to school fulltime to compete in NCAA inter-scholastic athletics? I mean, how can you go to school and just take 1 class every semester and be on the football team?

It's his fifth year and everything they're doing is perfectly legal, be it shady. Most guys enroll in the grad program in most situations. Most schools allow you to do it in a year if you're full time.

He's a football player, plain and simple.

What I love is how ESPN and other media outlets seem to think this is funny and support it. Remember all the heat katzenmoyer took at OSU for his summer school schedule? THAT was bad, though.

Its really shady to say the least. The more I think about it, the more F-d up I think it is. I mean, think about it, he only has 1 class (and its ballroom friggin dancing for crying out loud!) while most of his competition has anywhere from 3-6. How much more time does that give him to prepare every week? To study film, to lift, to go over plays in his head? He can study the defense he'll be facing every week for at least twice as much time as the defenders themselves can study him. Really screwed up if you ask me. But hey, its the NCAA. And your right, it is really annoying how the pundits on ESPN think its hysterical. Can anyone imagine the backlash we would get if it were Brady Quinn doing this?

A player at Notre Dame would never dream of doing that. ESPN is so far up Leinart's ass it makes me ill. The only reason its hysterical to them is:

1. heisman winner
2. QB for a national championship team
3. apparently raised Lazarus from the dead

Notre Dame would enroll Quinn as a "double domer" and put him in grad school. Many other schools do this.

No. Many student athletes at ND go to summer school to diminish their academic load during their season.

After the Katzenmoyer program of golf, aids awareness, and music the president of OSU had a study done and he was "shocked" to learn that colleges in the university allowed students to take courses without acutally pursuing a degree. He decreed that policy would no longer be acceptable. And if I recall correctly Katzenmoyer after gaining eligibility for his senior Fall semester through his summer of academic excellence didn't attend any more classes. But he did play as his eligibility was good till the next semester.

After a flap in the media four or five years ago, the SEC passed a resolution requiring student athletes to pass at least two courses to be bowl eligible. In the previous bowl season, 6 or 7 student athletes from a number of SEC schools had failed to pass a single course but played in a bowl.

Incidents like those is what lead to NCAA regulations on graduation rates, visible signs of progress toward graduation, etc.

Leinart is a flat out pussy boy baby! He is lucky he has the offensive line he does, otherwise I think we would be dealing with nothing more than an average quarterback. he's calling it a "cheap shot" well cheap shot or not, suck it up you pussy it happens. if you were lookin for the ballroom dancing field, you got the wrong one.
