MSU or UM ?

Who should we pull for in this week's Michigan vs. Michigan State game ?

Does a U of M win make them look better, and therefore, help the Irish in the rankings because they beat the Wolverines?

Or does an MSU win make them look better, and therefore, help the Irish in the rankings because they lost a close one to the now, higher ranked Spartans?

MSU, I love the fact that UM is not ranked. I want it to stay that way forever........

I think MSU will help us more, if MSU could run the table in the Big Ten then a close OT loss would help the Irish cause at a bowl bid.

"Crazy Legs" Stanton is on a roll, and it's MSU's turn anyway. Plus Michigan desperately needs some humility. Go Spartans!

an msu win will help, but sorry folks...michigan wins this game.

I don't know what would make you think that's a given, but it would be more fun if MSU got good again and Michigan tanked. Plus we've got to retake the win percentage from Michigan. The sooner the better.

I may be nuts but I think MSU may be one of the top teams in the country. With the system as it currently exists they have no shot a national title, but if there were a playoff system they would be legititmate contenders. There defense is a little suspect but that offense is as good as there is - including the media beatified USC team. I like to see them run the table at this point. It would certainly make the OT loss a little easier to take.

Also I hate UofM with every fiber of my being. If for no other reason - the helmets.

MSU definitely. They would have killed Michigan last year except for Stanton getting hurt and then Michigan still had a difficult time getting the win. The more Michigan loses the better. If they lose to MSU and then possibly to OSU, Iowa and maybe Minnesota, then Carr could could spell his name LLLLLLoyd! I want the winning percentage back for good!!!!!

Ill take MSU in this one. Overall they look like a better team. And when they played ND they looked like the better team for the first 3 quarters of that game. I think they are on the up and up.
I also think it would be better to lose to a team having a great season rather than beat a team that is having a bad season. If I had to chose between the two evils.

Has to be MSU.....if for the ONLY reason that scUM racks up another LLLoss and lets us rightfully retake our winning %age and most wins place...

Naaaah! Who cares abou the ratings? Their skewed anyway.

MSU ends up where they end up so does Mic. I only care about wins for ND. All else is commentary.

I'll take Michigan, only for the fact that if they beat MSU they will be back in the top 25 and that will help the Irish SOS instead of dropping is by losing. Also the VEGAS line for the ND/Purdue Game is -3 purdue!!! D. Walker 200 yds this game.

I hope MSU wins.

If MSU does win, you're going to see a fire under Carr's ass to win or he'll be on the next tractor out of Ann Arbor. There are already grumblings on the Big Ten site I run from their fans.

LOL... I guess that's true, but he is a good recruiter. I'd hope they'd recruit some middle of the road guy and the program would really take a dump.

Matty...That might be the most disgusting thing I've seen you post, EVER... :) "I think I threw up in my mouth a little bit." I hate like hell rooting for MooU over SCum...in fact, I'd rather rather beat myself into submission with a wiffle ball bat than root for either team...the real quandry is...who do we root for in November...SCum or Tosu...Think I'll go get a "FULL" body wax that day instead...Sounds more appealing.

Top Ten In Crosshairs

01_Carr2.jpg

Lloyd Carr, head coach, Michigan At. No. 11 Michigan State, Noon

The Carr-bashers were out in full force after the Wolverines fell to Wisconsin last Saturday, and Big Blue gets no reprieve this weekend, having to travel to East Lansing to face Drew Stanton and the powerful Spartans. UM is already out of the top 25; can Carr keep it from falling below .500?
