I work in law enforcement and I seriously recommend the LCR, LCP, and the LC9 for conceal carry or back up weapon. They are all great handguns.

That's good to know. Always good to have the professionals support that. What is your duty weapon? I am a big Glock fan.

Yeah, its designed to shoot both. The .357's have some kick, but it is much easier for target reaquisition after each shot than I thought it would be for such a small gun. Shooting .357's isn't "comfortable" during an afternoon at the range, but if you had to put down an intruder, it is nice to have a bit more power than just .38's. I put about 100 rounds of .38 through it in our last session with no discomfort. Lots of fun and super easy to conceal. You can put it in a jacket pocket with no problem. A good holster would make it virtually invisible.

I will have to look at that next time I'm at the gun store. I don't know why but i was thinking it was a .38 only gun. How is the trigger pull m? Long double action?

Glock on duty. All day.

I carry a Glock 23 off duty all the time. I swear by them but they are too wide to carry comfortably in every situation. I'm only 5'11" and about 200 lbs. but I can conceal it easily, not always comfortably though. I just shot the LCP (.380) the other day and I am ordering one next week when I get paid. I can't wait to have a trustworthy .380 to carry all the time. The .380 round has come a long way in the last ten years. It's basically like the 9mm round was ten years ago.

I have also shot the LCR and it is a beast. I love it but I'm not much into revolvers. I'm a younger guy (27) so I have always shot semi-autos.

Thats what I liked about the gun, it had a really smooth trigger pull. It wasn't as "jerky" as some other guns of this type I have shot. I am no expert, but I have shot quite a bit. Also the action was not long and was very comfortable. I was going back and forth between my Glocks and this gun and it wasn't as big of an adjustment between guns as you might think.

I bought a Glock 19 for my wife last year, but I might pick one of these up for myself because it might be easier and more comfortable for her.

I have always been a semi-auto guy myself. I have a Glock 21 and a Glock 19. I am not too familiar with the .380 round. I might have to try it out. I wouldn't rely on the LCR as a primary weapon, but as a backup or last resort gun, it is really nice to have such concealability.

What I like about the LCP in .380 is the conceal factor. Plus there is a well made aftermarket mag extender that can get you to 8+1 versus normal factory 6+1 magazine capacity. I would use nothing but Remington Golden Saber 102 Grain JHP in it. Plenty of bang. Enough stopping power. Best .380 round on the market. The saying I go by with a conceal carry gun is this, "Better to have any gun and never need it, then not have one when you do".

I was stuck between the M&P .45 and the Glock 21. I ended up going with the M&P because the 21 didn't fit comfortably in my hand (this would have been back in Gen 2 era). I did end up eventually getting a 3rd Gen 19 RTF. I love everything about it other than the grip angle. That took a little to get used to but they live up to their reputation.

I actually went with the short frame G21 because I liked how it fit in my hand better than the standard G21. I know exactly what you mean.

I use the Remington Golden Saber .45 and they are amazing. For my defensive ammo, I use the Golden Saber exclusively. Never had a FTF or a FTE with those. At the range I use reloads, but when it counts nothing is better than the Golden Sabers.

I use the Winchester's Ranger SXT .45ACP. Kicking it old school on my carry/home defense rounds.

Am I the only one here who like DA/SA? I can't stand the new striker fires. Also, here's a picture of the new Sig and a few other of my favorite things.

I've got as mossberg 500, a red ryder, and another bb gun. Also a bear bow. I don't hunt anymore, only did it for one year. My son and I shoot the bb guns at assorted targets he creates and have fun with that. The mossberg has been shot once in 16 years. Need to go skeet shooting again. That is some fun stuff.

I have heard nothing but good things about sig but they have never been in the right place for the right price at the right time. I was debating a sig 1911 but I ended up deciding on my Kimber. I also just got it back from the gunsmith. I had a grip screw stud strip out. Whhile it was in there I had him rework it. The trigger is now down to 3lbs 6oz. :wordyo:

I just have a Savage Arms Mark II so far but I am saving to get a M1 Garand. Also am I the only person that doesn't like the feel of shooting at Glock?

I didn't like it at first. After taking some time shooting it I am feeling a lot better with it.

I find the kick to be to much for an Glock 22 and it's not that I don't like the kick it is that it just seems like I can be weaker. My buddy has a Ruger SR40 and you don't even notice the kick.

That will always vary from gun to gun. My buddy bought a S&M Sigma 9mm. He bought it because he figured 9mm would kick less and his wife could then shoot it. I bought my S&M M&P .45 at the same time and his gun kicks as much if not more than mine and both are from the same gun manufacture.
Do you know what Gen 22 it was? That is the model that has had the most tweeking done to it by Glock because of the problems with it. I wouldn't judge all Glocks off a .40

I am also not a fan of how it feels in my hands but that is different for everyon. Has anyone shot a 1911 here?

Yeah, I love this SP2022. It's sigs polymer frame. It has a better trigger than the 226 and shoots just as well for only $450 shipped. Great little entry into the world of Sigs. Would live to get a Kimber 1911 though.

And who ever it was asking about not liking the Glock... You're not alone. I have no desire to own any striker fire. Shot a XDM and hated it.

Theres a running joke in my line of work. People that carry Sigs don't take life seriously enough to carry a good gun.
