What all these guys have [finally] begun to concentrate on is defensive line strength and depth. This is why FSU is getting so much positive reps this pre-season. They are recognizing that if you shut down the run, pressure the passer with D-Line rushers, and swing fresh bodies in all the time, it doesn't matter that the other team has a fast-paced hurry-up offense which tries to spread the field, nor does it matter that much if your own offense is stone age. Alabama and LSU have demonstrated that so convincingly to these guys lately that they've finally caught on to the D-Line power-&-athleticism, backed by speed everywhere recipe for winning 21st century football.
If our own D-Line is what we [homer] NDers think it is, then we will shut down almost everyone and surprise most. Then even a mediocre offense wins. [this is also why I continuously harp on taking the "extra" D-Lineman in the recruiting cycles.]

Virginia Tech will not suck this year. Although I believe that everyone's over-rating the quarterback there, Bud Foster has his defense back together, especially the D-line. Foster will make it very hard for people to score, and his bunch will score some themselves. VT could easily be imagined to make a mess out of EJManuel and win that game in an ugly offensive contest.
