Didn't he have a really good showing at The Opening? If so who cares about the Rivals challange.

agreed...this sounds like an urban move where he committed somewhere else and we pull the "we didn't want him anyway" or "i wasn't a committable offer"

this dude would be a huge boost to this class!!!

Haha. I'd love for someone to explain what a non-commitable offer is.

If I remember correctly its an offer than hinges on what another prospect does.

For example, Tre Bell could come to ND if Devin Butler had not committed. His offer was non-committable once Devin joined, and would be committable again if Devin or another CB spot opened up.

BK has also made a bunch of offers contingent upon the prospect setting foot on campus, or seeing a player's senior film.

khalfani Muhammad is a prospect many believe has an offer that is not commitable at this moment until he visits.
Will Fuller was another.

I've been following his recruitment from the beginning. ND did not 'pass' on him. I don't think he ever had an ND offer, regardless of what any of the 4 recruiting services say. If he did, I am sure he wasn't recruited heavily by them.

Taco is RAW. RAW as they come. At the opening, he was one of the very few players whose stock dropped a few. He needs to get low, and use his feet well, and learn the use of his hands.

During the time of his commitment to scUM, he openly asked for a tOSU offer. Urban didn't even give him a non-committable offer. That's how raw he is. He might be athletic enough to be coached up at some point of time though. But anyone who is offering are offering on the basis of his measurables alone, and not his athletic ability. He is a project. As simple as that.

I'll stop there as anything else I might say might be viewed as bashing by the mods.

I'm with GB and Ant on this so I will make it simple.

I think it is so funny that some people who were bashing this kid to no objection when he was a solid Michigan recruit are now thirsting for him to be Irish and getting all wound up. He ain't it.

I just want scUM to lose recruits. That is all.

Talking to Taco's parents after he committed a while back, I'd be very surprised if he de-committed. They made it very clear to him that if you commit early, there is no looking at other schools. I'll see him 5 days a week starting next Tuesday so I guess we'll see.

Pick Central isn't a school that sends kids to osu in any sports, so i would be surprised if he even had interest in ohio st. in my opinion Taco is a good football player, I think ND could do better as far as ready to play sooner prospects, but down the line I think Taco could develop into a nice DE.

Thanks all for the clearing up the "non-commitable" question. The term bothers me for some reason. Perhaps conditional offer would be a little more accurate.

@Irishfanjho15-That was a solid one. I've heard that term once or twice in relation to recruits that have spurned us.

Saw Taco play against Reynoldsburg last night. I didn't see anything to be overly excited about. I barely even heard his name called. I would expect a kid who is being recruited by the likes of Michigan and ND to be a force on the High School field. I think coaches must be looking at his frame and saying, "We can put a bunch of muscle on him, in the weight room, and coach him up to play."
