Contract dispute threatens sold-out American football game in Dublin

It sounds like there is a real dispute between Navy and the Irish organizers, but I'd be surprised if the parties can't work out their differences. Everyone's making a lot of money on this and I don't see where the dispute is so major as threaten the game. The threat to kill the event is likely just posturing. That's my uninformed guess.

I would be shocked if Ireland let something get in the way of the large revenue stream this game is going to provide them. Not only in ticket sales, but the economic impact of that many dirty Americans filling up their pubs.

Not to mention the positive exposure to American audiences via the broadcast of the game.

So if i'm reading that correctly, the IAFA is willing to sacrifice the €100 million impact to the Irish economy because they feel like Navy hasn't sufficiently funded an account to pay for children's flag football?

No one can be this idiotic, can they?...

LMFAO

But seriously....

This is just a bunch of hot air. There is no way NDs corporate lawyers are going to mess this up. No way!

Even if this story gets big, it will be an unitentional publicity stunt for the game.

Lol, exactly. I'm sure they are pissed that Navy hasn't done everything it said it would do, but threatening to kill the event is just silly.

If you check the Navy game thread, Eric Hansen of SB Tribune has already debunked this.
