1. The Dublin Coffman High School Alumni Association (Brady, Ndukwe)
* Ndukwe was all over the field, did anyone see that? That's what I'm talking about. I thought this guy was going to lose his starting position. He is a bad-ass safety now, as Calvin Johnson would attest to. BQ played tough, showed poise, and gave one of the best performances I've seen from a college QB.

2. Darius Walker
* Need I say why? D-Walk also played incredibly tough. I was afraid he was going to go down with what turned out only to be a stinger. But he got right back up and gave a winning performance.
3. Geoffrey Price
* Great punting. He played a huge role in the game, particularly when we were pinned down near our own end-zone and he punted it to their 30 or so.

Who are your choices?

tough call.....maybe too tough. Believe it or not, I might go with BQ outright. For the clutch TD before the half, for the big throw to the Shark and for the crucial dive for a 1st down to kill the game. Tough though because DW was a huge part of controlling the ball and made a great run for the go ahead score.

1. Geoffrey Price-without his foot, it might have been 17-7 or even worse at half. He dug us out of two holes.
2. Darius Walker
3. John Carleson- timely catches and some great blocks. (oops, forgot about the penalty but still played great)

How about Renkes and Price. Their kicking got us out of trouble so many times and kept putting GT in a hole with extremely poor field position.

Don't forget about Rhema McKnight... 8 huge catches for 108 yards including the big one on 3rd down.

I agree. I wish he could have that one drop back, but nobody's perfect. He's going to be great this year.

Let's not forget Travis Thomas. He was everywhere . He looks like a natural LB.

1) Price - the benefits of field position served us VERY well
2) Zibby - he played like an animal uncaged
3) Rhema - he was a tremendous threat and made some great catches
4) Darius - he played a great game and only missed one or two obvious holes

Here's an interesting note from the Rock Report:
"Lack of breakaway speed on offense limits what we can do."

I think that was painfully clear yesterday...but we made up for it by grinding out yards.

Rhema's drop on 3 and 7 in the 4th quarter keeps me from giving him my vote. It was an easy catch that I'm sure he knows he has to make. If he makes that catch there's a good chance ND scores a TD and ices the game. Instead we found out the Gioia is going be a cause for concern.

TT gets my vote

Yeah, Rhema had a 'good' bad game, if that makes any sense. It was a good game because it displayed for everyone to see that he was healthy again and ready to go. But it was a bad game because he made a number of mistakes, most of which revolved around dropped balls.

My guess is that it was just first game jitters. I'm sure they'll work on his hands during this weeks practices and he'll be more comfortable in the home environment. I'm pretty excited about his potential this season.

TT had 4 tackles, (saw him in on one good play), same with Ndukwe who only had 5 tackles....these are not MVP stats. In fact I didn't see much of any of the LB's in the game. Other than that, there were plenty of other guys who deserved it more.....Walker, Price, Zibby, and so on.

Look, I'm as appreciative of Price's booming punts as anyone, but...

Isn't it kinda sad when serious consideration is given to declaring that the game MVP is the frickin' PUNTER???

There's work to be done, Charlie. Fortunately, I know you're more than capable of the task.

Not that I'd put Duke as MVP, but free safeties are not supposed to have more than 5 tackles. SS's should, and usually do have more. Duke's coverage was more important than his tackles, as was his jarring hit to knock the ball loose from Calvin Johnson.

In the second half, GT rarely went to Johnson. While the oafs in the booth might critcise that as a mistake on the part of GT, in reality it was probably because he was taken out of the plays. If that was the case, it was probably Duke helping out the CB more often than not. The TV coverage really didn't show us what the secondary was doing in the second half.

I'd say Duke had one heck of a game. Johnson did beat him on a short route at one point, but your FS should never be matched up one on one with the best WR in the country.

Ndukwe is in the shape of his life......it was really obvious in that game. The lad has dropped twenty.

Me too Scoop. Twenty would be about perfect. Heck, I daydream about it. Alrighty I'm done.
