I hope we were showing a trimmed down base form of our Offense. I have been saying it for two years but our recievers never seem to have the opportunity to run with the ball after the catch. This has to do with the seperation as well from the wideouts but man, unless we are running a go route, we catch the ball and go out of bounds, or get tackled immediately. I was talking to an older brother of a certain cali QB at the Linebacker after the game, and his quote " not enough athletes bro". I hope this isn't true, Golden and Floyd looked pretty explosive didnt they? I would love to see Golden in the slot, and run the same route Shark ran where he runs flat to the line and get the quick throw with a running start. We are prettty critical of our QB, to me, he threw with zip, to the spot he was supposed to. Both INTs were due to the WR not catching with his hands, or giving up on the play. Jimmy is going to be just fine, but lets get the playmakers the ball in space.

Yeah I 'm still waiting do see a crossing pattern. The only time you saw any real YAC yards were on the two slants to Tate, which I think he was pretty close to breaking open. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of deep routes down the middle either. All our big catches are the go route down the sideline. Jimmy throws a nice deep ball, but I would love to see Floyd or Tate running across the middle about 15 yards down field, and then let them put on the moves.

i couldnt agree more. if there is no fear of our wr going over the middle then the safties can cheat and that allows the other team to have the upper hand we need more options on our routes we have the talent there i think but we need to catch the damn ball and cant run go routes all the time

Didn't you know that a crossing route is not legal in South Bend this season. Charlie talks about Golden only knowing one route, I think that is all CW teaches. Did anyone see a single crossing route on Saturday???? NOT

Golden Tate is the fastest on the team and Michael Floyd has a lot of athletisim so I don't know why they are not used more. I think that one of the INT's was Clausen's fault (the one in the endzone). The other, Mr. butterfingers needs to learn to catch the ball.

I disagree. It was Kamara's fault. All he had to do was turn around, and it was a TD. He even read the guys facial expressions and put his hands up to block the catch, so he knew the ball was coming. And he still didn't turn to look?!?

Like you said he should have looked for the ball or tried to interfere so they didn't get the interception. Receivers should always try to help the QB out.
