With all things considered, which WR do you think is/would have been more important to the program- getting Neal at the 11th hour or losing Greenberry equally late? Or do you think it's apples to oranges since Neal can play multiple phases of the game? Simply put, would you rather have Neal or DGB?

Neal. KR, Punt returner and so electric in the open field. Not saying Greenberry isn't a big loss. He was looking for a way out and trolled the whole ND fan base. Justin Ferguson and Chris Brown will be just fine. Plus we got Davaris Daniels we have no one with the skill set like Neal.

It's apple and oranges. They don't fill the same need. Neal is the perfect inside guy. Greenberry is more of an outside guy(Ala Floyd). Beside, I am hoping that Chris Brown and Justin Ferguson will make us forget about Deontay. Kelly has been looking for a guy like Davonte to integrate his offense. This has a lot of potential.

Weve got better options on the outside he is the first real playmaker in slot position since kelly has been here... though Greenberry would have made a real difference on the outside

I am happy with the current situation. Would have loved to have had Greenberry had he wanted to be here, loved his competitiveness and swag, but Davaris, Goodman, D. Smith, all could establish that mentality and desire on the outside. I do not think we have an athlete like Davonte on the roster, the guy can impact all three phases of the game and change outcomes with one touch. I love this class that we have.

Of course I would've loved to hold onto Greenberry, but in an honest choice between the two I'd easily rather have Neal. I love these guys who can explode; they give you that ever-present opportunity to lay a momentum-changer or death blow on the other team.

Actually, from the video I've watched and what I've been able to learn about recruits, I'm really excited about Brown... I truly believe that kid is going to be REALLY special!

I think they are both extremely valuable, electric players. However I am expecting Devaris Daniels to be a huge playmaker on the outside and I love Brown, so that softens the blow of losing Deontay. It is conceivable that Keivarae Russell could play slotback so maybe Davonte was not a life and death get either. But Davonte's abilities as a punt returner could be very significant.

And in retrospect, I am glad I don't have to spend 4 years being confused about Deontay and Davonte's names every time I want to talk about one of them. So that makes it all good.

I agree about Brown. I was looking forward to seeing 3 receiver sets with Brown, Daniels and Greenberry on the field along with Koyack at TE in a year or two. We win all of those jump balls!

Completely different receivers. I would have loved to get both, but what's done is done. Neal should be a difference maker from day one, just like Greenbery would have been.

I hate being reminded of Deontay. He's gone. No more "what ifs." We've got the top athlete in the nation per ESPN. Prefer to focus on what he's going to do for the program rather than what the other guy might have done.

Different players.

Rather have Neal from a dynamic game changer standpoint. Think of a Darron Thomas role when I watched Neal's highlights.

We really need big time possession wide receivers, so Greenberry would have been great. Luckily, Davaris Daniels redshirted last year, and Chris Brown/Justin Ferguson could fill that gap.
