If we go out a dominate this game we deserve at least to be in the bottom 25 in the ranking.

I think we may gain some votes, but I believe the "MSU isn't very good either" crowd will start yammering. We're going to have to put up with this for the rest of the year. But I'm OK with it...we haven't earned anything yet (except 2 wins). Let them continue to underestimate us.

I think so. Most people are predicting a loss for ND here. Low 20s for sure imo. All I want this year is a strong showing and Gator bowl win.

If Auburn can win a game 3-2, and still remain in the top ten, then I would have to say that a good win today, would put ND around 18. Now if they struggle yet still win, they'll probably be closer to 25. Point is, win either way, they'll be in.

ND is already receiving 4 or 5 votes in two major polls. They are "theoretically" ranked top 40. If ND wins this one convincingly, they will be ranked. I believe there are more Notre Dame lovers and well wishers than there are haters. The haters just tend to be very loud. You can't help but love ND and what it stands for.

On a down note, I kind of think ND will finish the season "not bowl eligible". They are still not strong enough, but I anticipate every game as if the Irish will trounce. That explains my sheer outrage and yanking of an individual eyebrow hair when they lose. I became "Metrosexual" last year by the end of the season.

I doubt it, we haven't beaten a team worth a dime if we go 3-0. Our schedule was purposely filled with cupcakes to get us a win, get us a bowl game, get us a bowl game win than be able to go for a big one next season.

This schedule was organized years ago. At another time, this would be one heck of a schedule. I believe that 8 or 9 of these teams were in bowl games last year. While I don't like the new 7-4-1 strategy for picking opponents, this schedule wasn't planned to make things easy. The only known "cupcake" was SDSU and I think that was returning a favor to their conference for a rescheduled game a few years back.
