Axl, I think if these guys get offers it will be at the end of the summer before the season begins.

Truthfully, if these guys do get offered it means that ND has lost out on some guys. They are in great standing with a lot of the guys they've offered currently and will wait it out.

Brooks claims he has an offer according to Rivals.

Last year we took a few recruits early who probably could have been replaced by better players later on in the game. Im not saying that these guys won't be studs, but some of the guys we could have landed at the end of the season might have been better recruits from the start. This year Charlie has targeted the best of the best and wants to make sure that one of them isn't coming before he moves on to the next tier of guys. This could either work out great for us and land us in the top 5 in recruiting again or backfire. Even if it backfires and we lose soem of the top guys we still are going to have a hell of a class.

There's always someone better out there. Always. However, we tried to wait on several positions (DT) and look what happened to us.

We put all our marbles last year in one jar in terms of DT and it backfired....Charlie is learning the ropes but as was shown by Clausen, he is learning fast.

How about Andrew Daily? Why hasn't he got an offer yet? I think that is stupied.

Because there are other linebackers that the staff wants more that we are in good shape with. We're taking four. We've got two. It looks like Donald and hopefully Wilson will may be the other two. Harrison Smith could be an Apache if he signs as well.

I agree with Indy. The class filled up quick and then better, more skilled players that were more highly touted started to gain interest. By then, it was too late.

Don't forget, they had to turn down Terrance Austin, Butch Lewis and a few others last year.

I really like Dailey, but the next LB they take should be Harrison Smith, Chris Donald and Martez Wilson. If they don't get Smith, go Dailey. If no Donald, go Brian Smith.

You know what? They'd end up with both. But I hope they get the two Tennessee kids instead.

Still, it's easy to read a few articles and watch some tape and form an opinion. I suppose this is why fantasy football is so popular. Maybe IrishEnvy should start a recruiting version of fantasy football. You pick high school recruits and 4 years later you get to see if they amounted to anything.

Guys like iloveirish_12 can take the players they like (Daily) in some type of a draft and see if they end up being better players than the ones Charlie picks. It would be fun.

Unless the grades aren't there, why not go after Golden Tate. Too many things in line with him, it seems, to not extend an offer. Does anybody know about ND's standing with Armando Allen or Caleb King. It's my understanding that King has a conditional offer, whereas Allen has yet to show much interest. If these two are a no-go, Tate seems to be a similar type of "all-purpose" back potentially.
