Ok, after today's batch of hat game antics and verbal commitments I'm sure a lot of you are wondering who's left on ND's board for the class of 2008. Well realistically it's very possible that ND might be done for this year's class unless they were to pull off a late suprise or sway a recruit from another program..
Offense:
RB/KR - Cyrus Gray: Cyrus does have and offer from ND and ND was in very good shape early for Cyrus but the addition of Jonas and the emergance of Hughes and Allen seems to be hurting ND's chances since Cyrus doesn't want to find himself burried on the depth chart and Urban is willing to tell him anything he wants to hear. Florida probably has the lead right now and other schools such as Oklahoma St. and Texas A&M are still comming after him hard as well.
RB - Milton Knox:Milton does not yet have an offer from ND. From the reports I've seen it looks like they might be waiting on his test scores to come back if they intend to offer him at all. Currently Milton is verbally commited to UCLA, but that commitment is considered very weak even before they fired their coach and largely because of D.Crist A.McDonald ND would probably have a real shot here if they were to ever offer.
OG - Kenny Page: While Kenny is still on the board it's looking more and more like he will end up staying in the south at either Clemson, S.Carolina, or Tennessee. Besides ND he also still has N.Carolina on his final list.
Defense:
DE - Datone Jones: Datone is a great SDE prospect or maybe even a DE/OLB from Compton, CA. He is currently commited to UCLA but he does have an offer from ND and he has been looking around as well as scheduling visits to Colorado, Oregon, Arizona St., and Notre Dame. One of the main reasons that Datone was looking around is because he felt that UCLA defensive cordinator D.Walker would not be returning to UCLA next season but that has not turned out to be the case, so it may be harder to pull Datone from UCLA then once thought.
OLB/DE - Kapron Lewis-Moore: Kapron is a OLB/DE tweener in ND's 3-4 system. He is currently commited to Texas A&M, but he has been looking around since their coaching staff was fired. The new Texas A&M staff has also done a very poor job of contacting their current commiments and no onw on the new staff had contacted KLP even a few weeks aafter the chage. He has a visit scheduled to ND the weekend of Jan 18th.
DT - Mike Martin: Mike just recently picked up an offer from ND this past week after the defection of Omar Hunter. As of right now he is part of this year's Michigan class but the coaching changes there have him possibly rethinking his status. ND had always been one of his early favorites along with Michigan and but a ND offer never came and then after ND picked up Hunter Martin verbaled to Michigan. Both Corwin Brown and Jonas have been really working on Mike and it really looks as if ND has a very good shot here, probably the best chance of anyone left on the board. He has a visit set up for MIchigan on Jan 18th and he's trying to schedule one to ND but his wrestleing schedule is making that hard, but he has been to ND before for summer camp visits.
