Ok, after today's batch of hat game antics and verbal commitments I'm sure a lot of you are wondering who's left on ND's board for the class of 2008. Well realistically it's very possible that ND might be done for this year's class unless they were to pull off a late suprise or sway a recruit from another program..

Offense:

RB/KR - Cyrus Gray: Cyrus does have and offer from ND and ND was in very good shape early for Cyrus but the addition of Jonas and the emergance of Hughes and Allen seems to be hurting ND's chances since Cyrus doesn't want to find himself burried on the depth chart and Urban is willing to tell him anything he wants to hear. Florida probably has the lead right now and other schools such as Oklahoma St. and Texas A&M are still comming after him hard as well.

RB - Milton Knox:Milton does not yet have an offer from ND. From the reports I've seen it looks like they might be waiting on his test scores to come back if they intend to offer him at all. Currently Milton is verbally commited to UCLA, but that commitment is considered very weak even before they fired their coach and largely because of D.Crist A.McDonald ND would probably have a real shot here if they were to ever offer.

OG - Kenny Page: While Kenny is still on the board it's looking more and more like he will end up staying in the south at either Clemson, S.Carolina, or Tennessee. Besides ND he also still has N.Carolina on his final list.

Defense:

DE - Datone Jones: Datone is a great SDE prospect or maybe even a DE/OLB from Compton, CA. He is currently commited to UCLA but he does have an offer from ND and he has been looking around as well as scheduling visits to Colorado, Oregon, Arizona St., and Notre Dame. One of the main reasons that Datone was looking around is because he felt that UCLA defensive cordinator D.Walker would not be returning to UCLA next season but that has not turned out to be the case, so it may be harder to pull Datone from UCLA then once thought.

OLB/DE - Kapron Lewis-Moore: Kapron is a OLB/DE tweener in ND's 3-4 system. He is currently commited to Texas A&M, but he has been looking around since their coaching staff was fired. The new Texas A&M staff has also done a very poor job of contacting their current commiments and no onw on the new staff had contacted KLP even a few weeks aafter the chage. He has a visit scheduled to ND the weekend of Jan 18th.

DT - Mike Martin: Mike just recently picked up an offer from ND this past week after the defection of Omar Hunter. As of right now he is part of this year's Michigan class but the coaching changes there have him possibly rethinking his status. ND had always been one of his early favorites along with Michigan and but a ND offer never came and then after ND picked up Hunter Martin verbaled to Michigan. Both Corwin Brown and Jonas have been really working on Mike and it really looks as if ND has a very good shot here, probably the best chance of anyone left on the board. He has a visit set up for MIchigan on Jan 18th and he's trying to schedule one to ND but his wrestleing schedule is making that hard, but he has been to ND before for summer camp visits.

I really don't see Gray, Knox, or Page coming to ND. We are loaded at RB and Kenny probably won't leave the south.

Defensively I think our best shots are with Jones and Martin. Jones is a strong DE but we'll have to monitor his situation with Walker and UCLA's staff.

I think what most of us want to see is Corwin and Charlie blow away Martin on an official visit to ND. He always had interest in ND and it would certainly fill that DT spot with the Omar situation.

Four weeks till Christmas day for recruiting fans. Should be an interesting month. Let's hope we keep all our guys on board and maybe add one or two for icing on the cake. Good day to be an Irish fan. The future is bright.

I too don't think ND will get anymore offensive guys which is a shame because I'd really like to see them land Page and C.Gray. However I do think that they have a very good shot at Martin, KLP, and D.Jones. They only major hang-up with Jones is taht Walker is now staying at UCLA wich I think just might be enough to keep him there because he's stated several times that Walker has become like a father figure to him.

I have a special place in my heart for Kabongo. We need Kabongo.

He included ND in his final three even though they never offered him. They'd probably have and chance if they made a move on him, but I haven't heard any buzz on him as of late. They seem to be focused on Martin right now.

Extreme sleeper

Kenny Demons-watch his film and then Arthur Brown's, not much of a difference. I bet he would jump on board if we initiate contact with him. Jonas is his best friend

Maybe not that extream...

Jonas Gray recently stated that the ND coaching staff has been in contact with his teamate and current UM commit Kenny Demens (4 Star LB). Jonas also said that he didn't think Kenny would show a lot of interest unless ND did end up offering, but that Corwin Brown and Mike Haywood had been up there a couple of times checking up on Jonas and Kenny.

I would not be suprised to see CW find another late bloomer lineman. We could use one more lineman and Martin. Everything else is totally icing. Every offensive skill position is filled perfectly. On D, we have solid back 7, could use one more NT. This class is soo solid. Finally, ND will again have quality depth at all positions.

Dever was a late bloomer and we started contacting him in Sept of his Sr. year. There is no chance in hell that there are any "late bloomers" that will pop up in January. We have 4 offensive lineman already and that is enough.

Thanks GG, I had a feeling that we would see his name possibly pop up. I didn't realize Jonas made that statement

------Ok sir what under the rader will never play offensive lineman would you like to offer now? Unless you're a die hard ND fan you're not going to go to a school that offers you in Jan. after blowing you off for 2 years most likely.

We need to push hard for Page and get him on campus. I think if we can get him on the campus we can make a late push for him. Im just saying look at USC, they get a ton of lineman every year and look at their line.

Page is a loooooooooong shot at best. He has way too much homebody in him. He will end up in the southeast. He does not want to go too far from mom.

If we can get Martin to visit, he will be Irish. If not, he's a Wolverine!
