obviously WR's for Notre Dame are very productive. 26 TD's between McKnight and Shark this year. Who do you think will emerge as our next big playmakers? Alot of candidates: Hord, Grimes, Parris, Kamara, Little, West, Jackson, Bragg, Gallup

Grimes is 3rd right now but is he capable of 10+ TD's next year? Who do you think will become our next Samardzija and McKnight next year?

Actually, Grimes made the play of the game but it was too late to matter. On our last long drive, he caught a 30 yard pass and got hammered, spinning around like a helicopter. But he held on to the ball and jumped right back up. That bodes well: that he was still performing when just about everyone else had given up.

I think our 4 guys will be...

Grimes
Hord
Jackson
Kamara

Anastascio might sneak in there if he takes a 5th year.

Grimes has been solid.... if he can begin to get open more often, he will be a great WR for Notre Dame. His pass catching ability is incredible... he has glue hands. Now, if he can get open on a more consistent basis, he will be great.

We need a TALL, over-the-top jump-ball threat equivalent to a Stovall or Shark. Our passing game will severely suffer if we don't get a goto jump-ball receiver. They have been money in the redzone with fades too

Don't sleep on Parris. He can develop into quite a receiver. It was obvious in high school against great competition. Who knows why the web sites undervalued him?

If you ask me, start praying that Carlson comes back. If he does, I think you'll see more multiple tight end sets. And hopefully a stronger running game. I really don't think they'll stretch the field as much.

That may change as the young WR's mature through the year.

There will be a new starter at QB and new guys across the board at WR. Not to mention a young Oline to hold it all together. The experience on the offense will be almost soley Darius Walker. Expect him to see the ball a lot. The talented young RB's are going to have to pick up a bit of slack as well. Those wanting to see Aldridge getting more carries will probably be happy. Hopefully Ace comes back fully healthy to add some power in the blocking.

Weis ran a downfield and sometimes short yardage spread offense the last couple years because that's what the personnel warranted. The strength of the offense was the QB and WR's. The line was smallish and the backfield was shallow. Next year the line will be young, but they will be bigger. With another year, the backfield will be deeper. It will be the QB's and WR's that are inexperienced for a change.

When Weis got Corey Dillon his playcalling changed dramatically in NE. I think we'll see something similar next season.
