OK, we know he's on the road. Where do you think he'll go?

This doesn't mean Charlie was on it, as coaches often fly commercial, but the ND plane came to Cincinnati this morning according to this tracking site. Ben Martin maybe?

Reminds me of the Santa Claus tracker.

I can't wait to spring that on my sons when they get a little older. Then again, the way #1 (18 months) reacts when he sees a football or football on TV, he may get more out of tracking Charlie's recruiting trail. God love the little guy.

the fact that i found this thread interesting instantly made me feel like a stalker.

good research! i have a feeling he's going to hit up the big names first. ben martin is probably the best guess so far. hopefully people will begin to hear about charlie's whereabouts.

I found it on another board, so I can't take credit for the research.

The last time Charlie made the rounds in Cincinnati, including Martin's LaSalle HS, word got out pretty quick. I'll keep my eyes and ears open.

For those reading this later, the tracker had the ND plane arriving in Cincinnati from South Bend this morning. It has since returned to South Bend, but Cincy's airport's a major hub. He can get anywhere from here. :)

This is freaky technology. How about we bug Charlie's personal car? What's he drive? I'm guessing he drives an Expedition or something big.

He'll be driving rentals while on the road, so he will be tougher to track. Jack Bauer has Chloe working on it.

Josh Oglesby told Paul Day at Badger Blitz that Charlie Weis was at his school yesterday.

Apparently, if this wasn't his first stop it was one of THE first stops Weis made.

USC and Florida State will be there this week as well.

I think Wisconsin could figure into this mix a lot heavier than what has been reported previously.

That's the word, yes. And apparently, he saw him first. What does that tell you about Mr. Martin?

DEFINITELY not a "Tress-calade", that's the domain of Cheatypants McSweatervest and his recruits.

Weis tore through Michigan yesterday.

Saw Ronald Johnson, then drove clear across the state to see Dionte Allen and Taurian Washington.

We need a map and little green pins to represent Weis sightings.

You'll run out of pins.

I continue to buy into BigDon's theory that Weis doesn't sleep.

commits???

Does anyone think that CW will get a commit or two from these recruiting stops? If so who would you guess it/they would be?? Thanks, Chris

I don't think he'll get a commitment just for stopping by someone's house. But what it does do is it builds a stronger relationship with the prospect and his family. The good thing about Weis is that he makes repeated visits and he always gets an early start.

I think a guy like Josh Oglesby will commit to ND because of his relationship with Weis. Don't expect that to come anytime soon, though. I believe that Ben Martin is a lock for Notre Dame and that the visits Weis makes seal the deal. Half the battle is establishing a relationship early and keeping hold of it throughout the entire process. That takes effort. Charlie has it, Ty didn't.

From the bits and pieces that have appeared on various sites. Coach Weis's itinerary included:

Monday - Midwest [Ben Martin, Josh Oglesby]
Tuesday - Michigan [Ronald Johnson, Dionte Allen, Joseph Barksdale, et. al.]
Wednesday - New Jersey [Mike Ragone, Justin Trattou, Anthony Davis, Duval Kamara].

Pete Sampson on Rivals Radio reported on Tuesday that Kamara, Benn, Ragone, Trattou, and Williams may all be ready to commit to Notre Dame. Further, unsubstantiated Ragone may hold a press conference on Monday.

Is there any significance to Coach Weis's itinerary for his "May Magical Mystery Tour," - highest priorities or most tenuous recruits first - or is it simply based upon geography?

Logically, Washington, DC would be next. Followed by FL. Next week, CA?

If Coach Weis has a flare for the dramatic, and after last weekend, there is no doubt that he does. It makes sense to let the other recruits have their "day in the sun" and let them commit at their schools. They can then get the maximum publicity, as well as give the impression that the Notre Dame "recruiting train is picking up speed, so you'd better jump on board before all of the seats are filled!"

When I re-read my post, it sounded like John Dean during the last Presidential campaign. "First we'll win in Ohio, then Michigan, New Jersey, Florida, California, then the White House. Wow!"

Anyone have any updates, confirmations, etc.?

Not yet. We may lead, but it's probably closer to 50/50 with OSU. I think we ultimately get him, but it's no given.
