Gift card for gas or a restaurant? Couple of DVD's? Flash drive if he's tech savy. Framed pic of you and him at an ND game or other fun time?

Make him something. I bought my dad a lot of things over the years, but the one I think he cherished most was a wooden plane I made for him when I was young. He was a pilot and had a Cessna 210, so I made a mediocre replica of it and painted it with his name on the pilots door. I'm not sure if I know where anything I bought him ended up, but that plane was hanging in his room when he passed away. Now it hangs in mine.

I wasn't here last night because I was hosting a holiday party for a trade association at one of my showrooms. As the host I couldn't drink but man could the guests. It was like being on a diet while watching your friends eat cheeseburgers.

That framed picture idea is actually pretty good. I have a picture of him and I in the snow on the field after the BYU game last year that would work great. Thanks man.

You're welcome.

My sons did that for me several years ago and I still have it in my office and always will. Definitely one of my all time favorite gifts. Make it a nice 8 X 10 metal frame. You can find some nice ones for $30 and under that look real expensive.

I love being sober and seeing people get to the point when they are hammered stupid drunk and act like fools and especially when they hit on each other's wives/husbands.

Don't get me wrong enjoy drinking myself but I do enjoy the sober observation of people when they are hammered.
