I find it interesting that the board is so quiet when ND beats the Hell out of a ranked team.

I find it particularly interesting that so many of the "highly critical" posters who seem to revel in baiting ND fans who support the team through adversity seem to have forgotten how to use the internet today.

It almost makes me wonder how many of these guys were ever really ND fans to begin with. For example, what kind of ND fan changes his name to express support for another team when things get tough? What kind of ND fan calls for firings at the first sign of adversity EARLY in a new coach's tenure? What kind of ND fan revels in rubbing other fans noses in the obvious shortcomings we have all had to survive these past few weeks? What kind of ND fan loves to post and bait after a loss but takes a powder after a big win/ (one that they all said was impossible)

No real fan of ND does these things. A fan feels pain when his team loses: not demented pleasure. A real fan criticizes with an eye towards improvement, not to spread dissension and panic. A real fan NEVER, NEVER derives any perverse pleasure from losing.

Some of these guys are trolls and simply want to mess with the minds of real fans. Some are just extremely pessimistic and would like ND to succeed but can't allow themselves to risk being a real fan. Whatever the reason, I for one hope the team can finish the season off with three more wins and shut them up altogether over the off-season.

What would they say if they were on here? "Great game ND played"

that's too much of a positive. In alot of peoples mind, Notre Dame is never good, they just play weak teams.

I just relish in the fact ND won a game that no one thought they could win. But they still won't get respect.

I'd love to hear what my boy Neutered would say about this game but unfortunately he was struck with the ban hammer.

I think the only negative comments I have made about the team is that I thought they looked like a bunch of p*****s playing against Navy, and I still think that. Again, don't know much about the X's and O's of football, but this team today looked a hell of a lot tougher than I have seen them all year. Where'd they get the new set of balls? Were the second stringers who had to fill in for some of our injured starters just hungrier, and did that rub off on the rest of the team? Don't know, but this was a team that had glimmers of the ND teams I grew up watching, and I was proud as hell of them. Let's hope that whatever lit their fires lasts through the rest of the season.

Hey, a fan being critical after a tough loss (like you) is absolutely not what I am referring to. It is these posters who really seem to enjoy ND's pain and try to embarrass fans who find any glimmer of hope during a tough season. Their absence today, speaks volumes.

Don't worry.... I'm sure KMoose will show up to silence it even more.

Oh, yeah, I wasn't taking it personally, and I get your point completely and think it is a good question. I just took the opportunity to express my (a) surprise and (b) glee that our team finally looked like a bunch of tough football players instead of like ballerinas, and wondered if anybody had any clue about what might have contributed to the difference.

I go to the 4HL a lot too and have noticed both are very slow after a win.

Many ND fans seem to love misery, i like winning.

On the other hand, people who are out at the bars singing the fight song probably aren't posting right now, so maybe the grumps are happy too.

Is it just me, or does the name WONDER DUCK come to mind? Great post. I agree 100%. I would have posted sooner, but I had to throw on my ND pullover and go out to eat. Time to celebrate. It felt good to see the win and the future of the team. I can't wait to see if some players commit after seeing todays game. I think that we had some prospects at the game didn't we?

Thing is, there are more ND haters than not...My co-worker in the office across from me said that "what irritates me about Notre Dame is their NBC contract" (he saw an ND helmet in my office). We're like the Yankees, I guess, except we can't spend money, have to adhere to strict academic standards and need to convince 17 year olds to come to a relatively small college in the cold Rust Belt.

We were scheduled for 50 recruits I was told by the recruits tour guide this afternoon. She said a couple didn't make it, but we had 45+ in town. I know Brennen Scarlett was in. On the players walk Kelly and several players made it a point to take a moment out of the walk and give him some love. He seamed intrigued when they did so hopefully thats a good sign.

Sorry I couldn't be here today. I was in attendence at my Alma Mater. Wabash KILLED Depauw 47-0. I was erect for most of the game.

After I watched most of the kids I helped recruit to Wabash pick up the bell, I sprinted back to the Fraternity house to catch the last quarter.

****ing fantastic. This entire week I didn't say anything... but I thought we had a shot. I'm really suprised that Utah didn't stick with the spread... why did they do that offset I ****?

I don't know. NDOM (Wonder Duck) asked about it a week ago or so and the thread was closed with no explanation. I've looked through Neutered's last few posts and didn't see anything bad, so I assume those posts must have been deleted too.
