Saw a report a couple of days ago, of the last 24 coaches in D1 who were found to have violated the same part of the regs as Tressel, only two were not fired immediately or resigned in shame immediately.
Tressel, OTOH, never even said he was sorry. He did say that he still feels good about himself, though. It certainly makes one think about all the other transgressions about which Tressel claimed ignorance. At YSU he introduced the player to the booster with the comment that the kid needed money, then pretended to be shocked that the kid wound up with cars and cash, said he assumed the booster gave him a job. And MoC with his new cars (Pryor drives new cars owned by car dealerships, too), Troy Smith taking cash from a booster, Derek Morris getting >$5k in illegal benefits, an unnamed player in '03 who was flown to California by Adidas on a private jet with Lakers tickets and everything needed to have a good time, hard to believe through all this that Tressel saw or heard nothing.
I suspect all games in which shady players were played will be vacated. That brings them back to 0-fer against the SEC. And Tressel will be forever known as a dirty coach, just like Woody will always be known for the punch; both are career defining moments.
