2, STP
3, Pearl Jam
4, Smashing Pumpkins

IMO

Now, I know arguments can be made about they aren't all the same genre, especially the Pumpkins, but yeah.
I feel like STP and the Pumpkins were underrated. Soundgarden too.

1. Pearl Jam
2. AiC

Well if we include Soundgarden, which we should, that drops Nirvana even more haha.

It isn't that Nirvana is bad, they just... aren't near the level of the others. I like them, but yeah.

Y’alls crazy.

1. Nirvana
2. PJ
3. Soundgarden
4. AiC
5. Screaming Trees

Seriously, though. I can’t imagine what it would’ve been like to have been in Seattle around 1990 when all these INCREDIBLE bands were percolating.

Appreciate them a lot. Mad Season, Mother Love Bone and Green River all up there too. Mudhoney, obviously.

don’t forget Mother Love Bone. I know they didn’t release a lot of material due to Andrew Wood’s death but the remnants of that band created PJ & then Chris Cornell approached them w/ the idea of Temple of the Dog that paid tribute to Wood.

Loved the movie “Singles” too that highlighted Seattle during that halcyon era.

SIDE NOTE: Duff McKagan of G’n’R was from Seattle as well and has connections & friendships w/ some of those guys.

It’s just crazy to me that so much homegrown talent came out of western Washington all at the same time! They literally changed popular rock music.

Been listening to Hello Mary a lot recently. They just released their second full length album in September. Discovered them in May when I saw them as the opener for Silversun Pickups. Some really neat stuff by this young trio.

I saw one of my favorite bands, Interpol, last night at The Salt Shed in Chicago. They put on a really outstanding show. I was able to get pretty close to the stage, but I’m not sure how much longer my knees can handle standing for a 2.5 hour show.

What got me out of rap in grade school:

1. Nirvana
2. AIC- 'Jar of Flies'
3. Candlebox- their first album is a great rock record

So much great stuff out of Seattle back in the day.

Led Zeppelin II, if it was recorded in the 50s

I thought this was a joke bit on YouTube, but it's actually really good and very listenable. It's the entire Zeppelin II album, but if it had been recorded by a 1950s act. I went to listen to a minute or two just to see what the joke was, and ended up listening to the entire 22 minutes. If you're a Zeppelin fan, this is a fun take on things.

Been listening to Houndmouth a lot lately. Always knew of Sedona, but they're coming close to me soon and I got tickets. They're a great band

My lady and a friend are going to see a Prince cover band in Wabash, IN tonight. I received the invite but respectfully declined. Thanks, but no thanks.
