What if Clausen....

....says he will stay for his senior year if Weis stays? What do you guys think the likelihood of that happening is, and would it have any effect on the decision to keep/fire Weis? Assuming we finish 8-4 or 9-3 and are headed to the Gator Bowl, would this impact Swarbrick's decision?

Jimmy may get out while he is still alive. All the starting lineman are seniors except for Robinson. If Jimmy comes back next year he may be running for his life.
Look at what happened to Bradford at OU.

Funny how everyone points to Bradford when they talk about Clausen not coming back. Pretty sure Bradford insured himself for a few million bucks before the season just in case he had a career ending injury, plus looks like he is still one of the top 3-4 QB's in the draft with the combine still ahead to prove himself. So really how much has he hurt himself. The upside ofbecoming an elite NFL QB by staying 4 years strongly outweighs the downside of a potential injury.

I think jimmy will return. i think that was the plan all along, he came here with the idea to stay 4 years under weis to prepare him for the nfl.

Another year of stats like these and the nfl scouts will know for sure it is not a fluke. plus a crowded qb class will also factor into his decision.

Jimmy is staying, the ONLY reason he will go is to get more money because of the cap. Just because of what happened to Bradford does not mean it will happen to Jimmy; Jimmy came in with an injury and is currently playing with an injury. Jimmy needs to stay another year for the experience.

With some people projecting Clausen being the first qb taken and a definate top 5 pick, there is no reason to return. Why would he return to try and pad his stats? Move up in the draft? He may go #1 to the St. Louis Rams. It doesnt get any higher than that. Bradford came back because he had a legit shot at the National. Jimmy wont. he is gone. IMO.

Bradford is a little closer to his heart, considering Jimmy has been turf toe'd all year long. Bradford also won't be a top10 pick.

I think JC comes back. In my opinion, he is not ready for the NFL. He needs another year.
