the whole starting over argument is hogwash. next year will be better with a real head coach.

the definition of statrting over will be when weis doesnt have clausen and tate next year and his poor coaching will be exposed even more clearly.

Both sides of the argument are simply guesses. Starting over isn't hogwash, it very easily could be a reality, we don't know. Keeping Charlie could expose even more clearly poor coaching, again, we don't know. What we do know, is that he is a good offensive coach. Does the head coach control how the defensive players perform on the field or is that mainly the Defensive coordinator? The defense is our biggest problem!!! The question is how do we fix the defense?

THE general public decided to vote obama in as president and now many are crying the blues........sometimes you can't take back shitty decisions.

If you want to start a political thread, do it in the lounge.

what we do know is that his teams dont do enough to be good teams. EVER. (he won this year against Nevada, MSU, Purdue, Washington, Washington St, and Boston college, and squeeked by most of those.)

that falls on the head coach. he picked his coordinators. that falls on the head coach as well. a large component of achieving success as a head coach is the ability to put effective people around you. any excuses about the defense not being good enough fall right back on him because he chose his coordinators and recruited his defensive players.

I think we should keep Charlie, fire Tenuta and have Corwin be the d.c....and Charlie should bring back an o.c. so he can oversee everything like a regular head coach.

Yes, because Weis is clearly a train wreck, when it comes to developing quarterbacks. Tom Brady? Stiff. Brady Quinn? Stiff. Jimmy Clausen? Stiff. I mean, how does this guy keep a job, ruining great quarterbacks like these?

It will probably take a few games for Crist to get up to speed, but I'm confident that Weis will maximize any talent the kid might have.

Much of the problem is that CW is focusing so much on the offense. I'm not a big fan of having a coach and OC in one. At the same time, we basically have 2 DC's. I think Charlie is a pretty good Offensive coach, a great QB coach, but a subpar head coach.

Do you really wanna go there? Perhaps the "shitty" decisions were made by those who voted for *******.

The Midwest Blues Festival was one of the highlights of my time at ND. Hound Dog Taylor, Houston Stackhouse, B.B. King, et al. "Crying" the blues was oh so sweet!

so he'd make a nice qb coach. still, it will take much more than a few games to have crist anywhere near the level of clausen, who is already 22 years old and near the end of his third year with weis. if tate, who is a very potent weapon, is gone, it will make things even tougher for a new qb. there are many good developers of qb's throughout college and the nfl, but that does not make them head coaching material.

dskoo65, I would ask Wabash to take a seat next to you and pull out the hammer, but I have heard your same sentiment from so many others (not on the internet). And it surprised me.

What is your football experience? None of the "real life" people who are still angry and calling for his job have much "real life" football experience as others who remain silent.

Just curious buddy. I seem to be standing almost alone here in keeping CW.

But at least I chose to have four nice legs.

So you didn't think Tenuta was a good choice??? I doubt it!

But that wasn't your point. Your point was that, without Tate and Clausen, Charlie's lack of coaching skills would be exposed. My point was that Crist should be able to come and play well, after getting a little experience. And we will still have Michael Floyd and Kyle Rudolph, so it's not like Crist is going to be slinging the rock to Adrian Jarrell and Matt Shelton. The offense will still have some weapons.

And then there's that sweet little tail. And those "talented" hooves. And the oh-so-hot and oh-so-intriguing black eye patch. The pooping on roofs thing is kinda iffy, though. I recommend a regimen of talk therapy and a darn good whacking with a rolled up newspaper three times a day.

I also recommend that Coach Weis be taken to the woodshed, the Grotto, the Log Chapel, the Hesburgh Library, The Huddle, The Rock or wherever and be given an old fashioned "talking to." And another year to prove his mettle. Pride cometh before the fall. In for a nickel, in for 18 mil. Salvation is at hand – and a cornerstone of the institution.

Yeah O.K.

I'd like to see you leading a team of reindeer with Santa whipping you, while flying around the world in a split second delivering gifts to all the kiddies in the world (except Cleveland and HCTI).

Poop happens. Geez.

Sometimes a guy has to poop.
