hhaha how am i mark may??????? im a actual nd fan. i hate roc the panther. man the schedule may not be as tough as usual but compared to our level of play the schedule is still challenging. michigan, mich state, purdue, nc(uprising team in acc we didnt technically struggle with last year but they can score points), pitt is improving and has one of the best rbs in the nation say what u want about dave wannstedt but just remember people were sayin the same about ron zook then he ad a bad-a yr and went to rose bowl., boston college, and usc are all possibl losses. 7 possible losses..me personally i think we can beat san diego, mich, purdue, stan, wash, navy,and cuse..but the teams i listed earlier are complete toss ups because we dont know how well we actually improved bc our offense may have looked better in blue gold game but last yr, pretty much everyones offense looked good against our defense.

o.k. in an earlier thread I said what happens if ND finishes 6-6, well let me clear things up and say I am really optimistic about this season and predict we will go 10-2 and play in the BCS this season in leading us to a chance of a possible ND National Title in 2009.

I agree, but I really dont think this ND team will make it to a BCS with 2 losses. It will take a while to climb, plus a weaker schedule, I dont think wiht 10-2 we would be top 12. We finish though top 10

I expect a 9-3 season or 8-4 at worse and many breakout stars like Duval Kamara, Brian Smith and Robert Hughes to emerge as well as many of the freshman on defense. If we finish 9-3 it will be a springboard to a National Title run in 2009.

I expect 7...any more than 8 would be unbelievable.

8-4 is very doable. I said earlier that the inexperience will be the problem this year. I will love it if we win more than 8, but I think that is a realistic number. I just can't wait for the season to start and the wins to come. I've had to put up with too much crap for the last 10 months from all the SC and Pac-10 fans here. (Even a UCLA fan, believe it or not, until I reminded him of the game last year. Like he had forgotten.)

fightinirish98, glad your here but lets be a little more positive. I stand by my 11-1 or 10-2 prediction.

There's a fine line between "positive" and "delusional". 8-4 is positive, 10-2 or 11-1 is delusional (for this season, anyway).

I don't think labeling those of us that have the hopes and dreams of a 12-0 or 11-1 or 10-2 season as "delusional" is very good at this stage in the game because we don't know anything. A delusion is a false belief or opinion. How can you say it is false when the season hasn't even started yet? If we were saying we could win the National Championship after winning the UCLA game last year, then we could have been considered delusional. However, with just over two weeks until the season even starts, the slate is clean and the possibilities are endless. If you have your opinion of the season, then make your point, but badmouthing other fans for their hopeful predictions is a bit over the top.

I think we are going to go 11-1 and I truly believe we are going to beat SC out here in LA. Disagree with me. Tell me why you think that won't happen. Just don't sling insults just because I have my opinions and my hope. And don't be right there at the end of the season after we close out a BCS Bowl win saying you knew it would happen all along. If we don't have as good of a season as I predict, I will stand firm by what I have said here because it is what I have said every season for 33+ years. And I will continue to believe in this team in the face of all odds until I the day I die.
