My brother is a wildland firefighter currently in Montana on his 14th day. Usually after a roll they get shipped back home for some r&r for a few weeks. Right now there are simply too many fires burning. They are getting two days on the ground leave, then being shipped to Oregon.

Rough job, 12-16 hr days. God bless everyone living and working in the areas being hit.

I used to work for one of the big aerial firefighting outfits in Oregon. These fires can completely devastate the economies of the affected areas. Especially in the areas that rely on tourism. God bless all of those in the affected areas.
