Did Weis say good luck to you after the NCAA investigation? No, just kidding, I heard him say the UCLA game or something like that. One thing you can never accuse CW of is not being himself. Gotta love it.

There's no way I could have gone up to any USC fan after that game and said the same. But Weis does to USC's head coach. Unreal.

i am looking foward to the day that poodle will be uttering those same words in a couple years to CW.

If he has the character to do it. Which i doubt.

you know what though, for years i was a blind homer who would never say anything respectuful about an opposing team...i was always one who made some excuse as to why we were 5-7 etc...since Charlie has been coach I have been able to have his same approach...for example, living here in Norcal, you encounter tons of bandwagon SC fans, as soon as the clock read 0:00 I had 5 calls just like that...i gave no excuse, i simply said that SC was clearly a better team and we played poorly...ohh yeah, i said it would be the last time in 4 years that they win again

Maybe idiot was harsh.. maybe uninformed and not equipped to post would be more fair. Come on man just because Svo is trying to get people to participate here doesn't mean you can just come on a thread and say anything you want... what did your post contribute to the thread?

Just because Weis "needs to go on a diet" doesn't mean that he isn't real.
I'm not sure I'd trust our kickers either. That's reality. I don't worship the guy, but based on what I've seen and heard, he is an exceptional human being.

The point is, penguin, that Svo made this thread to tell a pretty cool story about coach Weis. And it IS a pretty cool story. Not many head coaches would do a thing like that after a game like that. Nobody said anything about worship, just that it was a cool, down-to-earth sort of comment that is typical of our coach.

Enter the Penguin.

Begin the irrelevant negative comments on weight, kickers, etc.

If you want to post about Weis's weight/kickers/hero worship or whatever, go for it! Just make a new thread. It's easy and fun! (or so I've heard, havn't done so yet myself.) But don't go spouting off stuff like that in the middle of something else, it annoys ppl, and it's rude. Nobody should have called you an idiot, but you probably shouldn't have acted a bit like one either :awesomewo

You many not be an idiot, but if you cannot spell the coaches name I really doubt that your and ND fan. By your login I would have to guess you are a Penn State fan right?

I agree Svo, Charlie's a class act. I've always been intrigued at some of the comments he makes during his pressers regarding his family. How Maura wouldn't tolerate this at home, and how she rules the roost. He's an easy guy to admire, and for a heck of a lot more reasons than him bringing ND football back to where it's supposed to be.

Charlie is quite a guy...I would have wanted to punch poodle in the face. Charlie does take the high road which just adds to the pride of being part of the ND nation.

Charlie's weight issues are not a topic for discussion. Complain about his coaching on IrishEnvy--not his weight. That's just b.s. disrespect.

Poodle is an a$$. He will never do that once ND starts getting the upper-hand. He's a good coach though. I at least have to give him that.

First let me start this off by saying that I was born a Notre Dame fan and have been for the past 30 years. OK, I canno tbelieve I am saying this but....Carroll is a good coach, and I enjoy watching USC play (except against The Irish), now don't get me wrong I do not root for the Trojans, but they are fun to watch. Speed, Athletes, and they execute. You cannot debate that, ethically is the program run on the straight and narrow? Probably not, but the NCAA still has not come down on them for anything. In a few years Notre Dame will have the same type of athletes, and it will create "game of the century" status between these two programs that have giving so much for college football. I know this might not sit well with many of you on this site, but it has been great to see ND return to a meaningful existence (remember when we were not even mentioned on College Gameday a few years ago or ESPN, not we all bitch because the bitch about us!) and you cannot take anything away from the USC program. But, I cannot wait to see the Poodle telling Coach Weis great game, good luck in the BCS Championship game!

A couple of years back, I thought Carroll was wayyyyyy overrated but then he kept winning and even this year, after all the talent he lost, they're still going to go to the national title game and they laid a beatdown on the Irish. I still don't like him, but I'll give him his due, he's a great recruiter and a pretty darn good coach who knows how to motivate his team

Who's let's suspect rappers and NFL agents hang around practice, in the team locker rooms, and in most of the players areas. Sure, Pete can recruit, and coach, but it's kinda like at Ohio State, "win at all cost". I have no respect for that.

usc wins and has great players. I dont' respect their program but i respect it more than OSU's
