This article is probably going to be misinterpretted by many. Weis wants Crist to push Clausen not because he doesnt like Clausen and does not want him to start, but because competition will mean that it will bring out the very best in Clausen.

With that said, Clausen is the clear starter on September 5th

I think that article made that perfectly clear. However competition is always a good thing.

Weis also said that Clausen's main focus in spring football would be moving around in the pocket. He's compiled a ton of game film of Tom Brady for Jimmy to study.

I guess that can't hurt, but I'm so sick of hearing about Tom Brady, Belichik, New England etc. Weis needs to make a name for himself instead of living off of the past forever.

Sorry but I can't disagree more. If you have one of the top QB's in the NFL as a former pupil and you can use him to teach your current student how to make his game better, then you would just be stupid not to use that to your advantage. They both have similar skill sets as far as their running ability why not use film of TB to teach JC.

True. I'm just sick of hearing about it.

I think that the QB competition will be a good thing for both QB's. What iritates me is that Crist hasn't taken a snap and he is hyped up to be this great QB (which I hope he ends up being). Clausen will be our starter and I hope that the competition will bring out the best in Clausen.

I can image them taking this literally.

Crist: "Hey Jimmy."

Claussen: "Hey buddy" Tosses ball to Tate "What's going on?"

Crist: "Oh... nothing"

Crist runs over to Claussen, pushing him violently.

Claussen: "Oh... damn!!!"

Claussen falls, shoulder his the ground. He stands back up, practice jersey stained from the grass.

Claussen: "Well, what the hell did you do that for?"

Crist: "Coach told me to push you during Spring Ball."

Claussen: Long Silence
.
.
.
.
Crist: "Wanna get a smoothie later? Maybe a Nattie Ice?"

Claussen: "It's a mandate..."

God I need for my Spring Break to get here...

Jimmy is the clear starter but I think Crist will be a much better QB for ND because of his mobility! Jimmy reminds me to much of Bernie Kosar! Great arm but you turn your head when he has to scramble or move out of the pocket.

Clausen has more potential than any other QB in the nation. Now that all the position players are older, this will be his breakout season.

I just hope he comes back for his senior season.

LOL, We have a place in Heber Springs, AR where we go trout fishing on the weekends. There is a 'last chance' liquor and beer shop that sell Banker's Club Rum. You can get a fifth of that for 4.99. I have never had it but it is always on sale there!!!! How good is it?????

According to reports from today's open practice, Clausen is waaaaaaay ahead of the other quarterbacks.
