Wait a minute... Ohio St. is ahead of USC? USC beat them! God I hate the coach's poll. It makes absolutely no sense.

Coaches dont watch the games. Except for their conference they do not follow teams. They watch sportcenter and see box scores and vote.

And Ohio St. lost to Purdue a couple of weeks ago. USC lost to the #10 team.

Both teams have bad losses. But if you have the benefit of a head to head matchup, that should make it easy. Not to mention USC beat Ohio St. in Columbus. USC is clearly a better team than Ohio St.

So what? The rankings are based on ALL games played, so far, not just one. I hate this argument, simply because the better team doesn't always win the game. Is Washington better than USC?

If Washington was 6-2 and USC was 6-2 and Washington beat them, then yes.

If two teams have equal records but one beats the other, how can you not say the one that wins the head to head is better?

Yes, the better team doesn't always win, but they sure do most of the time. That's why they win.

Prediction: We will finish ahead of USC in the polls and go to a BCS game while USC travels 100 miles down the the Holiday Bowl. We keep winning and we get a monster recruiting class at all needed positions.

You probably should care. The worse they do, the worse the ND loss to them looks.

Yes, yes, I know... we should worry about winning out and not care about everyone else... but the fact is, we'll need some help to get into a BCS bowl.

With Oregon likely winning the Pac-10, USC will probably get an at-large bid, which takes away one for us.

You got that backwards. At this point a TRUE fan would care a lot about the Trojans right now. The better they do the better we look at this point.
