Week 1 National Gameday Thread

Hey guys I just thought I'd create one thread for us to talk about all the various non ND games, and some future ND opponents.

As of right now here's what's going on around the country:

Ohio St is up on YSU 14 - 0 in the 2nd.

Penn State is up on FIU 14 -0 in the 2nd.

Northwestern is beating Northeastern 10 - 0. They are in the 2nd as well.

E.Carolina is leading VaTech 7 - 3.

Florida is up on W.Kentucky 14 - 0.

Michigan St. is killing UAB 35 - 0 in the middle of the 2nd.

I saved the best for last. App St. is leading Michigan 21 - 14 in the middle of the 2nd. This is the game that I 'll be tuned into, at least for the time being.

UM has all they can handle. After being tied at 7 they pulled ahead 14 - 7 then App. St. anwsered and tied it at 14. Then after their 2nd TD the App. St. D fored a 3 and out which was followed by another quick TD by App. St. which made the score 21- 14. UM then fumbled the kick return which was recovered by App. St. on the the UM 18, but it was unfortuanly overturned and now UM has a pretty good drive going.

UM just went for it on 4th and 5 and didn't get it. App St. ball!

The Big Ten Network actually has pretty good coverage so far. They have four games going right now on DirectTV channels 218 - 221. The UM game is on their main ch. which is 220. For being a brand new network I'm pretty impressed.

App. St. just picked up a big 3rd down conversion. It was 1st and goal from the UM 8, but App. St. just recieved a 5yd penalty.

TOUCHDOWN App. St.! The QB scrambled for a TD on 3rd and goal App. St. leads 28 - 14 late in the 2nd!

UM is driving with under a min left in the 1st half. They are already in FG position.

App. St. held on 3rd down on UM will have to kick a FG, but they had to blow another TO because they didn't have enough playes on the field.

FG is good. App. St. leads 28 - 17 with :16 left in the half.

Reps. Appalachian State is a good team, I said they would stick around til the fourth quarter (somewhere on IE). I still think that; Michigan will win this game in the fourth .

28-20 UM now. They got held to another field goal off an App State turnover, and ASU is driving now.

App. St. just dropped an easy TD pass but they were able to get a FG. App. St. increases thier lead to 31 - 20.

And if UM loses, of course, all we'll hear about is how App. State is the CLASS of I-AA!
