Yeah this is an old story but since the article is fairly new I read it and was particularly upset about this line..

After Lizzy’s death, Notre Dame officials did continue to investigate her, even interviewing her roommate at Dayton. But the player continued to take the field every Saturday, along with Michael Floyd, who was reinstated after a spring DUI that was his third alcohol-related offense, and the other player who a Notre Dame woman said had raped her in February 2011 -- the woman who, in light of Lizzy’s case, hadn’t reported it.

To even begin to compare Floyd and his DUI issues with rape is just bad journalism.

Horrible story.

Disgusting when people get away with this kind of stuff.

I know. The writer should be fired for trying to drag entire community through the mud based on a tiny amount of unverifiable information from a questionable source.

Exactly. Ashamed to say it, but I have a very good friend that was accused of something similar, proved to be false (as he wasn't even at the party when the girl cried foul)....yet he still gets snickers and dirty looks from those that we hung around with in college. Even though it was dropped by the DA. And the girl later recanted her story to say she "thought" it was him....

I would love to see a law in which women were put away in prison for cases in which the person being accused was found not guilty.

Talk about destroying someone's character. And ruining their lives.
